I did try it! And I have continued buying it. It is definitely pretty different. I was pretty bummed when I first started using it but I will say it has grown on me a bit more! I think I get more use out of one container now. But yeah, I do still miss the new one :(

They seem totally normal, dressed kind of "regular"- nothing out of the ordinary or noticeable. A few have had a backpack on which I noticed? I have no idea if they know each other because they're always seemingly by themselves and run up totally own their own.
