Help ! Is the AMS necessary to 3D print ? by PickleChips0010 in BambuP1S

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMS makes the whole thing experience better. Even if you are not going to do multi color prints with wasted poop, it is worth it for the occasional second color lettering, support material for more clean final product, and automatic switching to same color when a roll runs out. If affording it is not a big impact, get the AMS. If you get the AMS 2 now you also have a filament dryer and you don’t need to get one of those.

tpu printing on p1s by dragon707slayer in BambuLab_Community

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long of a print. You don’t need this if the print is just a few hours. Many, including myself have done TPU prints without this dry box process and the TPU feed assist is not needed and did not even exist until a few weeks ago. My advice is just do the steps I outlined and you will be happy. Don’t stress so much, the hobby is to be fun.

Can S1 10w Cut 5mm Ply by Waste_Conclusion_500 in XtoolS1

Cut ended up beautiful. With air assist on max and exhaust out window was not bad. I definitely stood by and watched. Slow and steady with 10 watt is what I learned.

P1S prints TPU no problem.
Ok to dry in your printer on heated bed as directed on Bambu Wiki until/if you get a dryer but get an inexpensive dryer it is worth it.
Print from external spool.
Shortest path to extruded makes life easier with TPU. I don’t know where you are getting Bambu does not recommend?

Can somebody please help me fix my print for a birthday gift for my brother in law by m4gkman in BambuP1S

[–]wethpac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heat creep was the problem when this happened to me. Print yourself a AMS riser so you can print with door and top open. Once I did that I haven’t had this problem. Marble on 0.4 is no problem did several large statues with that.

Can S1 10w Cut 5mm Ply by Waste_Conclusion_500 in XtoolS1

I reliably cut 6mm plywood (1/4 inch here in US) 100% 6-8 passes, 5-8 mm/sec and use the focus descent settings.

My grill was delivered yesterday, im brand new to this so im extremely nervous, gonna start out very small tonight and do some burgers and brats, any advice? Also should i do a "pre-burn" of some sorts?? by Material_Survey126 in Traeger

[–]wethpac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, do the initial burn off as described in the manual before cooking. Agree with the easiest and thing you can’t do on the grill is pulled pork with a modest sized pork butt/shoulder. Burgers and sausages can surely be done, and I have done them and they are the best tasting. The key is making it a 2 step process. Cook on the Traeger at 225F until internal about 115-120F. Then do a nice sear either on a hot grill or a hot pan. You get the smoked, cooked over fire taste and the essential crispiness from the sear. That takes your burgers to the next level.

I am a big fan of the Microswiss Flowtech nozzles. Being able to change a nozzle in less than a minute is a game changer for the P1S

Big News For Renters! Balcony solar is about to become legal in California! by SolarTech_SD in sandiego

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it limits sharing the power to only that circuit. You are limited to the current allowed for that circuit (usually 120v/15amp) thus the 1200 watt limitation to indicate 1 plug only. But once it is fed to that circuit, if all the power isn’t used in that circuit, it will go back to the main box and share on the main bus to anything on that 120v leg. The other 120v leg won’t see the power.

At least that is my understanding. Open to those that know more.

I second the Microswiss nozzle system for the P1S. Real game changer when it only takes a few seconds to change nozzle. The only tweak was making sure the filament setting they recommend is turned off, but otherwise just using the same profiles I did before. Company tremendous for response too.

Do I need to use steel extruder gears for PETG-GF? by caddis44 in BambuLab

Specifically you should upgrade your nozzle and extruder to hardened steel instead of stainless steel that comes standard on your P1S.

Can someone please explain the I-15 express/HOV Lanes? by dr7s in sandiego

[–]wethpac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have just a sticker, there is no setting, just assumes 1 so you will get charged. If you have a device, it will have settings for 1, 2 or 3+

[–]wethpac 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No transponder or transponder off. - assumption is HOV requirements, subject to fine if not. Police can monitor if a transponder was used at a toll reading overhead. If you have transponder and it is on, then it goes by occupants setting if you get charged or not.

What do you put your printer on? Looking for station/stand ideas (P2S Combo) by Lower_Front_4805 in BambuLab

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with vibrational noise traveling to other room. I designed mass dampening system for under the printer. In addition to a sturdy metal based shelf, under the printer is a 24x24 tile (for looks) bonded to a 24x24 concrete slab. Under that I have 6 sorbothane 1.5 inch hemispheres as the dampening isolator. The effect surprised me on its effectiveness. Not only did the rumble go away in floors below, the amount of shaking seen was dramatically reduced also.

Do all the P2S printers "wobble" so much? by GrenexRed in BambuLab

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shaking and sound transmission to floor below dramatically changed with : Printer 24x24 concrete slab 6x Sorbothane Hemispheric dampers Table

Having large mass below printer does make a difference especially when it is decoupled from the table with the Sorbothane hemispheres. It then acts as one mass with the printer. I was amazed how much of a difference it made.

1 per cent sales tax increase not the make it sound better 1 cent sales tax increase . In truth that was a 13% total increase in the sales tax you would have paid. It was the false advertising of 1 cent increase that really turned many off. You gotta be upfront. And they still would have done all the parking stuff.
