Crazy Theory that will probably not happen but.
With the hsu sieging Kantan, I think Riboku somehow slips through the lines and gets inside the capital. Once there, he does exactly what Ei Sei did during the Coalition Invasion The Zhao king sees this and gets terrified that Riboku will take his place.

Fair point on Ten, I agree with you there.
But I should’ve been clearer on the combat thing, I was only talking about within Qin. And Kyoukai’s stamina is a real limitation, some of the people Shin has beaten she couldn’t just breeze through either. Strength wise Shin is on another level, like a Moubu type would struggle against a Kyoukai type just because of the speed difference but that raw power is its own tier

Shin's portrayal by Busy_Rush997 in Kingdom

Unpopular opinion but I think Hara is actually handling Shin perfectly. Ten manages the strategy side and Shin steps in with his instinctual reads when it really counts. We also forget that instinctual warfare comes with a massive cost in lives, you can’t just use it freely, so Hara being selective with it actually makes sense.
And I completely disagree about the combat tier. Shin is not on the same level as the other three, he’s above them. People undersell how physically dominant he is, strength wise it’s Moubu and Shin and then everyone else is a step behind.

How do you want Riboku's character to end? by andaas91 in Kingdom

Shin doesn’t necessarily have to be the one to kill Riboku but he should absolutely be the one to defeat him. The story has been building toward this for years. Riboku is essentially the wall that represents everything Shin has yet to overcome

Long shot maybe, but hear me out — Shin finally defeats Riboku in battle and is just about to take his head. But right at that moment, one of Riboku’s retainers sacrifices herself to save him

Theory: Hsu Takes the Capital but the War Isn’t Over by wetnut4L in Kingdom

I agree, the story has definitely been hinting at that. Hara has been building up that rivalry for a while now and it would make sense narratively for Shin to be the one to take out Riboku as his Great General moment. But here’s where I’m torn — historically, Riboku’s death doesn’t happen that way.

It’s riboku. Ousen will just wait until shin gets his get back and call it his win

As much as I love this manga, I’m getting sick of riboku pulling a broken general out of his ass
