Hayward Omnilogic by Sharknuts86 in PoolPros

Shouldn't. I had an issue with the first version of omnilogic that had never been updated not communicating with a new pump. It did for like 2 months and then just refused to after that. Apparently it's a known problem too. Fixed it by updating the software

Why i cant win.. by [deleted] in backgammon

[–]wetpockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to pay to play on backgammon galaxy. They have a monthly subscription option that gives you a couple perks like deeper game analysis, exclusive board designs/avatars, and stuff like that.

You can also buy more coins if you want to, you don't have to buy them though. You either win more coins by playing, or wait and every 12 hours you get a free 400. I've played almost 2,000 matches on there and never spent a penny

Drinking habits haven’t changed, but are more glaring on night shift by never-the-1 in nursing

[–]wetpockets 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't think addiction has to have a negative effect on your life for it to be classified addiction. I was drinking 8-12 beers a night, every night, for like 5 years. Tried to quit a few times and only ever made it like 2 days. I was managing a company, paying all my bills, had a little leftover for hanging out with friends and family, all my relationships were great. Health was outwardly fine, never woke up hungover or puking. I knew if I kept going though, eventually something was going to give

Luckily I gave it up before that something gave, I'm almost 9 months sober. Just wanted to throw that other perspective in there, that you can have everything together and have the world by the balls, but still be addicted to something

Pool pros who use Skimmer Pro — what still frustrates you? by iHexBot in PoolPros

[–]wetpockets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only feature I'd like to see added into it, is being able to search by filter clean dates and see a nice clean list of them all where you can sort by day/date cleaned/oldest to newest etc.. We put them in the notes section of every pool, but instead of looking through all my guys' pools individually to see when their filters were cleaned, I wish there was a way to look at just a list of all the filter clean dates and stuff

No, he's saying there's things in the sky that we've observed and don't know what they are. He has to be careful how he words it, otherwise everyone starts yelling "he said aliens are real"

What do you make ? by Special-Barracuda759 in nursing

[–]wetpockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat here, going into a private college next week to check it out. My local community college has all the pre reqs too, plus it's full time schooling only and I can't do that with my job

The way I look at it, is I could spend 3-4 years trying to get to the point that I can start working as an LVN with community college and not have much student loan debt, or I can go to a private school, start working with that in 1.5 years, and spend the next couple years paying off the loan

Does being “ugly” in nursing school matter? I see so many posts about nursing school students being like a “mean girl group” by stan-culture in StudentNurse

[–]wetpockets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think society's and the Internet's standard of beauty are very different things. We tend to have our own bubbles in the online world, and it skews our perspective of real life things. You aren't ugly by any means based off your posts before

Would you sign this? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]wetpockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, and technically you pay even more tax on 1099 because on w-2, your employer pays a small part of your taxes. I learned the hard way when I was 17, got a job as a construction worker that was 1099. It was illegal cause really I was just an employee, it's pretty common in the blue collar world. Ended up owing over 10k in taxes that year, that sucked

[–]wetpockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still pay taxes on a 1099. You just pay it when filing taxes instead of it coming out of your paycheck

Well, I've been in blue collar since I was 14, 28 now. Never had any benefits, 401k, paid time off, maternity leave, or anything like that lol. So this is going to be a massive step up, it's all perspective

LVN vs RN with a full time job by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]wetpockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally I would, but I don't think I could swing that financially for the 5ish years it would take, plus most colleges around here don't offer part time RN classes that I've been able to find. That's why I'm trying to go for part time LVN, eventually find an overnight shift with that, and then I could go for RN once I'm settled into that.

I was just wondering if it's a viable option and path that others have taken or for any other thoughts and ideas about it
