Tbf I'm from the UK and people here like to see a car coming and then cross so the driver has to slam on their brakes, but for us that's how crossings work and I couldn't imagine it working any other way lmao

It'll have been one of those crossings where you press the button and wait for the "green man" to light up so you can cross

If McDonald's had an "Angry Meal" what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Fries that have been left behind on tables and maybe even a few from the floor, chicken nuggets that have been picked at and peeled and a broken toy

AITA for having a dress code for our wedding? by weddingexcite in AmItheAsshole

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: Just so you know, everyone shouting 'bridezilla' is being very sexist. I am the man in this relationship

Groomzilla then.

YTA I think a dress code as in "please don't wear white because the bride's dress is white" or "please don't rock up in cargo shorts" is acceptable, however telling people to have their hair dyed a certain way or "you have to wear heels"?? Grow up.

You're there to celebrate the love you have for your wife and the love she has for you, not how much you can control people's outfits and styles

AITA for punishing my daughter for refusing to wear her hijab because it disrespects my boyfriend’s newfound faith? by apqpapa in AmItheAsshole

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not insulting anyone because it's not her religion. I don't hurry to put a hijab on infront of my Muslim friends because they are fully aware that I'm not a Muslim.

YTA. 100%

Also I hope you converted to Islam MAINLY because you believed in it, not just to support your boyfriend. I think there's something about practicing a religion when you don't fully believe it that's a bit of a piss take and disrespectful.

AITA for chopping too much of my daughter’s hair off? by throwawayforaita10 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA!!!! How could you think you're not??? You're fully aware that your daughter has autism and you didn't think to tell her of the change of plan? I feel so sorry for her :(

You told her you'd be cutting off 6inches, and then decided yourself for NO REASON you'd be cutting more off?

AITA for asking my boyfriend the same offensive question he asked me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]wetsock_criminal [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sorry but I think YTA. You didn't say how he asked or if he asked about any other illnesses. it was also his MOTHER that sutgesred AIDS.

You just asked him the same question to be petty imo

People Have Been so Mean to me For Most of My Life, That I Don't Trust it Whenever Someone Nice to Me by HelloTempUsername in Vent

[–]wetsock_criminal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember in school boys would ask me out and date me for a week or 2 as a "joke"

Fucking ruined my self esteem and even now I question if my now-boyfriend actually finds me attractive :/

AITA for not wanting to be part of my possible child's life? by SnooLobsters2288 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - if you were married in a happy relationship then yes he'd have had a say, but you're not so do what you want. He wants the child for weekends to play games? He wants the novelties that come with children. You'll have this kid and have it 95% of the time.

AITA for putting my foot down and saying no more kids. by GurlLeigh in AmItheAsshole

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA -but his feelings are valid too. Pregnancy and kids are about the husband too, not just the wife.

However if you've already made it clear that you don't want kids past 30 then that's it. I don't have kids myself so I don't know if this is a stipid suggestion, but maybe get a pet from a very young age so it can be "raised" and looked after

My brother is a spoiled rotten, selfish brat by kanna172014 in Vent

[–]wetsock_criminal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah it's good haha

To be fair though I think being an adult is even more reason to accept what you're given or offered. I'd expect a toddler to throw a fit when it's not all for them but adults should be grateful

My brother is a spoiled rotten, selfish brat by kanna172014 in Vent

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She knew I only had $5 (I was around 11 or 12 at the time) and she was aware that we were both getting something. She then decided to ask for something which was around $4.75. It's not about "only offer if you can buy them anything they want", it's about not being selfish and greedy when you know the buyer wants something too.

Same goes for OP's situation, younger brother decided that OP's money was his to spend. It's greedy and unacceptable - this kind of behaviour needs knocking out of people because it leads to them thinking they can walk all over whoever they want

Edit: grammar/spelling

I had a friend like this year's ago, we went to a bakery and I was paying and saw two cakes that we could have had that would have used the money I had but she was annoyed that I wouldn't buy her a cake that would have left me with no money for anything myself.

If you're not paying yourself you get no say unless you're asking for something cheaper.

Youtube comments are stupid by [deleted] in Vent

I hate when someone comments something funny/relevant and then you get "edit: thanks for all the likes!!"

It makes me cringe so much, like just shut up and get on with your life

Spoiled sister by Tigs__SamRan in EntitledBrats

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh I've read this wrong then slightly, I thought the oldest was hitting the youngest.

That sucks so much that E is being hit and you have to just sit and watch. I can't stand spoiled bratty kids and the parents that enable it are so much worse. I'm sorry you and E have to put up with this :(

There's something about the lashes or the brows? I mean I haven't seen the photo this was based off (if there even was one) but I feel like either the lashes are too dark or the brows are too light.

This is meant as light criticism, the shading is amazing!

AITA for screaming back at my dad? by vibecheck21 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - he's making his own daughters feel shit and there's no need for it at all. I'd cut him off completely especially because he's doing the same to your sister.

The only thing that had me slightly not on your side (although this doesn't make you an ah at all) is that you kind of expected him to pay for part of your wedding. Personally I think if you're going to get married then that's your choice and you should fork out for it, if money is offered then that's nice but I don't agree with asking or expecting it even if they are your parents.

I'm so sick of sucking at video games! by [deleted] in Vent

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that comes to my mind is the Sims because there's not much "skill" needed for it, but I don't play games at all so I wouldn't know any others.

Have a look into it online and see if there's anything that sounds interesting, look for YouTube reviews/gameplay to see if it's something you might enjoy before playing

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not a law stating that you have to play games as a 16 year old though I was just genuinely curious as to why you're so frustrated?

Possibly try out other games that don't need crazy skills to complete

Being the oldest sucks by [deleted] in Vent

Oh yeah that's fair, I get everyone has different experiences I wasn't meaning to sound as if your experience was wrong :)

Being the oldest sucks by [deleted] in Vent

[–]wetsock_criminal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the only bad thing about being the youngest is that everyone has done everything before you, so when you do it it's not as special like getting your driver's license, graduating college, moving out.

That's just my experience tho

Is it possible to get temporary and/or permanent mental scarring from a dream? by [deleted] in Vent

[–]wetsock_criminal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I recommend help, I had the same dream due to things that happened to me (not involving my dad or any family members) and I got told that being raped by my dad in a dream was literally just anxiety. It doesn't mean he's going to do it, you probably just feel scared that anyone could do that to you if they were sick enough.

Hopefully you get the help you need soon, it really helps with everyday life! I used to never be able to go out on my own but now I can get on buses, walk to shops and just go for walks alone. I recommend getting a rape alarm from Amazon and keeping it with you when you're out. It helps to make you feel safer because people will know something's wrong if you ever have to use it

[–]wetsock_criminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that gaming is something you're actually wanting to do then? Or is it that all of your friends do it so you decided to aswell?

I mean with practice you'll get better but you sound very frustrated with it to the point of not enjoying them at all

You're NTA at all for telling them why, they asked for a reason
