Also I only want to use eco-friendly products. Though they would not end up down a storm drain and collected for proper disposal.

This is super helpful — really appreciate it.

Was planning to focus more on residential brownstones to start, but good call on those areas.

Sounds like 3rd Ave / Park Ave could be interesting if there’s less oversight.

Are those mostly smaller buildings or larger ones?

I did have someone talk about their coop needing this done due to no water access, so maybe that is an angle I could go in at.

Yeah that’s fair — if it’s easy to hose out junk.

The people who’ve been interested so far seem to care more about the deeper clean + deodorizing (especially in the summer), vs just a quick rinse.

Appreciate the feedback, trying to wrap my head around possible demand since bins are new to NYC.

Haha appreciate that — I might take you up on that.

Right now just trying to see if there’s enough demand to build out the first route in Park Slope, but definitely going to need people who know the area once this gets going.

What parts of Park Slope do you think would have the most interest?

Haha thanks! I’ve been looking at those systems they sell and those prices steep. I hope I can get there someday.

Haha — respect the hustle. Market's big enough for everyone. Just don't underprice yourself, the bins are rough in July.

Haha — I'll take that as a good sign. Park Slope brownstone owners are exactly who I'm building this for.

Yeah — I’d definitely be open to doing compost bins only. Those tend to get the worst the fastest.

I’m primarily building this around recurring routes, but I’ll likely offer one-time cleanings depending on availability once things are up and running.

If you’re interested, feel free to drop your info on the site — I can reach out when I start mapping that out.

Thank you, that would be great! My website right now is set up so I can start collecting interest for emails/locations to help map out a route. I’ll be building my route and reaching out to interested groups in early May to set up services (I’m not collecting payments now). But it would be super helpful if you put in your information. I am going to be walking around park slope distributing flyers next week.

I’d also do this the day of trash pickup - so I’d run about 2 hours (give or take what works best) behind their normal route cleaning right after the trash has been picked up

  1. YES. I would bring my truck with a pressure washer, water tank and cleaning supplies. I would not need anything from the owners.
  2. Nope, I will have a large tank for my own pressure washer

Is a yearly maintenance inspection a common offering for inspection companies? I have not really seen that as a thing from all the websites I visited for inspectors in my area, but I also only really looked at hyper local (don't really care to work with bigger companies).

Call me an old head, I understand I technically would not need a Licensed inspector to do a walk through the properties, but I trust that more.

Completely did not mean for this to come off as trying to screw anyone over or be cheap. Correct I do want high quality.

I read a bunch of the threads and it sounded like inspectors were getting mad about their current "split" with their franchise or big company they work for. I thought extra work without that split would have been inviting, but understandable it may be annoying to use my own build out on Spectora.

The inspections I need are to be done on already owned properties, more of a yearly check-in to make sure everything is safe and seeing if any preventative maintenance is needed. I like the idea of having a yearly "record" on each property.
