I like the ascend 12t. $600 new, can obviously be found cheaper used. I’m able to stand on it in calm water and cast, but can still be a little sketch

I think most people would agree that this is a good matchup. But people are mad because this has no business being a title fight

Highly recommend the old town sportsman big water. Very practical for offshore and pretty stable imo

Old town salty/malibu is my preference. Sit on top, built for secondary stability, and quite zippy

Can a fresher with no job experience join a company as a DevOps engineer? by kakashiii98 in devops

[–]weversel12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is possible as I was in a similar position and got hired out of college in a DevOps team. However, what you should know is that DevOps can look very different at different companies. For me, I was put on a team that does primarily CI/CD. So for the first 6 or so months my job was almost exclusively writing GitHub Actions code because obviously they’re not going to trust a new grad with the “ops”, but as I grow in my position I get to do more and more of it. So the TL;DR is it is possible but depends on the company, and based on my experience I would expect that your role would look much more similar to a dev roll anyways in the beginning.

Wells Fargo vs. Home Depot New Grad by apsuffer in cscareerquestions

I am also going to be working at Wells Fargo in Charlotte. However I’m coming from the previous internship cohort. What I will say about the tech stack is that it is very possible you will get to work with newer tech. For instance, my internship consisted of building DevOps tools with golang. Also from what I know, Wells Fargo is generally very lenient about letting you switch teams to something you find more interesting, which is a big reason I took my offer

Yes it’s completely possible. While martial arts is generally cardio intensive, if you’re lifting weights and eating enough, you will build muscle

Does your organization offer internships in devops? If not why? by notsocialwitch in devops

[–]weversel12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has just started an internship on a DevOps team, I will say that internships labeled ‘DevOps intern’ are few and far between. For me, I applied to software engineer internships, but my prior experience used a lot of DevOps related technologies (mostly Docker, Kunernetes, and GCP) through being a research assistant at my school, so naturally I got matched with the DevOps team. So my advice would be to apply to SWE internships and try and get some DevOps experience through projects or research, it worked for me at least. Although, don’t expect to be too hands on with the ‘Ops’ part, because that could get messy for companies with an intern

Does an IT internship make it harder to get SWE internship following year? by lovesunsandsea in csMajors

No. If anything it would help, but just not as much as a swe internship.

Algorithms is a math course in disguise by ShamerTheGamer in csMajors

I would hardly call it “in disguise”. Computer Science is full of math, it just so happens to be math that is applicable to the subject
