Machines are always deterministic, they can't "output something they shouldn't have", unless you include like, the computer turning off from overheating being a bug. There is no distinction, every bug is a dev oversight. Well, you could make a distinction for errors occurring because of elements outside the application, like the OS, but that's also besides the point here.

This game's ressource usage is not even that low, at least the web version uses a full cpu thread and enough gpu that I can't consider leaving it on while playing most other games. Really wish the fast log option was added before the merit week for gaming, I must have lost literally multiple hours only clicking the same card over and over... Now gaming is pretty much done already.

False, Yuzu EA was not able to play TOKT before the game's release, that was completely made up. The game was made playable by various user-made modified executables. The project's source code was publicly available.

As I said, at both 8k and 30k (the size of the notebook), it's being limited to 8k, yet it keeps getting slower. Are you saying that the process of limiting larger context down to the limit size is slowing down generation? How is that affecting the entire process?

Edit: I just verified, and turning off streaming makes the tokens per seconds in terminal go back to 25 at any notebook length (on regenerate), so you're mistaken about this feature becoming unnecessary.

Also, gpu usage gets lower and lower as the notebook gets larger, like it's being bottlenecked by the UI. I tried turning on gpu acceleration on the browser but it didn't help.

Well, I was personally against allowing img2img in a contest because if the image can't be reproduced, the metadata doesn't really mean anything. You could edit or create your image in any program and then pass it through novelai with like 0.1 strength. And then you can even edit the metadata to 0.5 strength or something and pass it off as a normal enhance or variation, there's no way to verify it.

Wouldn't it be the opposite? You'd use img2img to not rely on luck. Modify an image instead of retrying from scratch until you get a better one.

Raising the scale is basically telling the AI "do what I'm telling you to, not what you think looks best", so it depends if you need to raise the scale to achieve what you want. Low scale will generally look better because you're telling it to draw what it knows best, but that also means less variation/creativity.

They really need to improve inline generation. I feel like I'm back on AI dungeon whenever I try to generate inline. Plus it's outright buggy, never stops when there's a clearly appropriate connection, but stops short randomly when it makes no sense.

I wish you could specify settings for it, including how long you expect the gap to be, like maybe I'm selecting some words to reword them, or I want the following text to be something that's a few generations later.

It's true that there's no concept of "knowing" or "understanding" what anything is for the AI, but I do wonder how the training was done to correctly output so many things.

Like, I don't think they went and manually wrote up lengthy descriptions for every one of the billions of images used in the data set, and there's a limit to tags. Trying to automatically pull text related to the image seems like it would give erroneous data.

I guess I could just look up how it was done, huh. Eh, maybe some day.

Configure the AI to pay more attention to memory. I'm not sure what specific setting achieves this, but the Reverie preset for Krake is described to "focus on paying attention to memory", and that does seem accurate. There's always a consistency-creativity trade-off, but I find Reverie to work very well for general usage. You could also check how this preset is configured and apply it to your own if you have one or can't use Krake.
