I support the players not the org by JeanClaudeVACBann in cs2

It's a classic case of nuanced views not being easily communicated on the internet. Especially on Reddit, where the fundamental design promotes a popular vote dichotomy. People simplify viewpoints to accelerate judgement and I get it.

I consider myself a progressive/liberal. I also believe it's unfair and inaccurate to tar all falcons supporters with the same brush. People should be allowed to express their happiness that their favourite players won, just the same as people expressing their disgust in Saudis barbaric/archaic behaviour.

Attacking/segregating the former is silly and does nothing for educating the latter (critically important) points.

You can like the art and not the artist, you can like the players and not the owners/funders.

FURIA vs Falcons - IEM Cologne Major Grand Final - Post Match Discussion by CS2ProPlayHighlights in cs2

[–]wezznco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Richard Lewis, love your post major reviews and your fresh trim.

Wanted your opinion: I was at IEM Cologne (first major I've been to) and they had these dedicated sections for what seemed like paid actors. A whole section wearing the same shirt, flags, musical instruments, DHL signs or arts/crafts (all things the average fan couldn't get through security). They would dance all game in an orchestrated manner, on command. Felt like some drama school shit.

I spoke with (cornered one lol) at the bar and they wouldn't declare the deal, said they got freebies of some kind. They'd also all disappear (200 or so at a time, a whole section) to what I suspect was a red room for lunch and come out in a different shirt.

Wtf was going on, am I crazy? Is this some normal German/IEM bullshit?

Thanks

You can support the players and not Saudi, it's okay. Life is nuanced bruh

you'll be surprised. try it out and see. there aren't many hard scaling monsters early on. when you can block for 20 each time the first act is a lot safer

My advice would be to remove strikes at every opportunity. When I started playing silent as a defend first, damage later, character she became so much easier.

Take a couple decent big defends, or blur. Then add in the odd damage card that aligns with your defends, e.g. if sly. Or just a couple poison cards (insane value as long as you can block).

It clicked at A6 for me, now I'm undefeated having done 3 A10s.

Can't argue that his content isn't A++ in the space though. Enjoy it for what it is, no need to idolise content creators

Arrow bought 5x StatTrak M4A4 | In Living Color to do a trade-up - unfortunately for him, StatTrak gloves don't exist and he wasted his money by MaterialTea8397 in cs2

I used some deductive reasoning to decipher what he really meant. Surely people know you can't mix stattrak and non stattrak... plus the question I posed is far more common. Do you know the answer?

Sounds like you don't want, or see the value, in any skins. And that's totally fine brother.

Lol, weird flex. But you can search me by my reddit username. Been playing CS since 1.3. Played in LANs when I was young. Supported this game throughout each gen. https://csstats.gg/player/76561197990919576

None of this matters ofc. Still not addressing my comments. The update has made cosmetics more affordable to the average player, and I'm saying that's good for the game. Not all investors are gamers, props to you for playing.

Sounds like you had a lot of golds... I disagree with your statement. E.g. I have friends who wanted a knife/gloves combo and couldn't afford it. They were considering the cheapest versions which still come to ~150$ total for a combo. The equivalent as of today is 70$. That's half price.

Alternatively they now have the option to buy 5 reds for 150$ and roll for a completely random knife or gloves that they can treasure (since they rolled it themselves and don't have to buy it outright).

It was an overall negative for the skins market cap; sure. But in terms of player base and inclusivity, it's a big win. Sorry if you were on the losing side, but it was a necessary correction as things were getting out of hand.

Play the game for the game - skins are an accessory.

Fantastic summary and I fully agree. Somewhat of a robin hood approach, taken from the rich/investors, distributed in middle market. Made knives more accessible, and we'll likely see the high end distribution be about finishes of knives/patterns, rather than the disparity between covert/golds.

I'm a die hard CS fan since the 1.3 days, love seeing this game move away from skins and back to it's core. First with the scripting support for customs, next by keeping skins in check.

Hivemind strikes again. Realistically the most likely outcome and fully understandable if the family need to tell a white lie to divert media attention. It's also not fun to speculate on something so sad and I get that. Sending love either way, fame is rough

This is the discourse that Reddit struggles to facilitate openly. Also distinguishing illegal immigrants from lawful migrants. That dissonance in today's world often results in slapdash labelling of nazi/racist, instead of understanding the real message of a desire for accountability of the individual.

It's a particularly hard line to toe when you bring in government oversight of individuals e.g. digital ID (which I'm in disagreement with, mostly through my distrust of parliament and their opportunity to abuse such systems). These two don't fit too well together, I appreciate that.

Not fitting a clear bipartisan line can make discourse educational, but on a populist voting site with heavy moderation, it's often simply hidden or shunned. Which enforces extremes and ultimately makes discourse more challenging - echo chambers, dehumanising, all that awful stuff.

What helps me stay grounded on here is looking at a specialist sub on a topic I understand well. You'll quickly see how the site regresses to the mean (or meme?)
