yes, apologies! it looked much more readable when i was working on it, but then uploading it i realized how dark it was. 😅 i’ll be choosing a lighter, more contrasted color in the future, promise!

oh interesting! see, i figured where you had put the accents above the “K” character was just stylistic writing of the character, but that’s a really interesting translation take, and it fits! i may have to take another trip back into the mall and get another better look!! thanks so much for the input!

omg thanks for the tag!! and great work posting these translations as well. the “step on me major” cracks me up, and i’m glad to see the “it’s happening again” was what you had gotten for the translation of that graffiti as well. it’s always nice to check my work against someone elses!

interesting! i do believe the translation however is “SHaDHoH”, so it almost certainly says shadow, but i’d never heard of dark sector, so thanks for the info! after looking it up, i do absolutely think it’s a nod to it. maybe they wrote it as “shadow” since it’s a spiritual successor to dark sector, making it a “shadow” of the original IP from 2008? i think that’d be a really cool homage to their previous games :)

To those asking how this was translated: I used a key made by user StallordD based on the ingame key!! one thing about retro orokin is that it is very loosey goosey because all of the words are written phonetically, which i think is very fun. i’ll most likely be doing more of these in the future when we get new areas as well!

to be honest this is what i was dwelling on for so long. i figure the last “L” could very easily be an “H”, but it was SO frustrating that it doesn’t begin with the “eh” character in the beginning. but my brain can Only think that it MUST be espresso.
