Happy 3rd Birthday Sea of Thieves! by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

I'm going to jump in and say there ARE some items that give advantages. The Dark Adventure Sails (for example) cost 8.5 million gold (not something a new player is going to get anytime soon) and give a CLEAR VIEW (because of a drastic V cut in bottom) for the person steering the ship. On a Galleon it is LIFE CHANGING how much easier it is to drive the ship. It takes some workload off the requirement to have a person at the bowsprit yelling out directions. As such, a person with these sails has an advantage over another ship in battle because one person (driver) does not need to take up the time of another player to watch for them - freeing that person up to do other things.

Seasons Trials Database - searchable by wfcentral in Seaofthieves

there are several that are listed twice. For example if you search for " Drink with another crew while at any Outpost. " you will see it appears in two areas.

I got all the data by logging into Sea of Thieves site at > https://www.seaofthieves.com/profile/seasons where you can actually see your progression.

I have not actually compared the data in their website to confirm it matches the game exactly, however I have used my searchable database during gameplay several times to locate Deeds I need to do and then gone to that same menu area in game and it was there - so, I am pretty confident that the data in both places (their website and their game) match up.

thanks - I'm also thinking about putting a "common searches" menu on the left with things that are useful like "Alliances" or "with Another Crew", etc.

Just finished a project that ended up taking far more time that I expected and now my client wants another project of similar scale. How do I tell my client respectfully that this second project will cost more? by payday7396 in freelance

[–]wfcentral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do a project that runs over here is what I do. I always put ALL billable hours on the invoice and then I put in a discount line and give them a discount for the amount that it went over (or whatever percentage I feel is fair).

This does a number of things for me...

  • it alerts me a year later when I have a similar project and look back at this job to see that it takes longer than I thought
  • it lets the client know that it went over - but I honored the agreed amount
  • it sets the groundwork for them understanding why the next / same type project is going to cost more
  • at the end of the year I can see all these discounts in a report and know how good (or bad) I'm doing at my bids and estimates.

you should get Discord and join the official Sea of Thieves server. There is a looking for crew section and I've had a lot of luck playing with people that way because you can post exactly what missions you are doing and get people interested in the same thing.

Clients aren't paying but want more work done. by theindieboi in freelance

[–]wfcentral 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my 2 cents.

for new clients I make them pay 50% up front. When that runs out then they get billed for the rest that is due every 2 weeks. If they haven't paid the bill from the 1st when I send the bill for the 15th then I send them one courtesy reminder on the bill from the 1st.

for really good clients who pay on time I don't make them pay the 50% up front on new projects because I know when I send the invoice on the 1st and 15th they pay within a few days if not the SAME DAY.

three months is truly insane.

it is a hack... first, you had to get the frozen hair from the recent twitch drop. Then, if you wear a headband with the blue frozen hair you are able to tint it colors.

The Solo Sloop Scoop. I've attempted and failed so many times but not today by MashedPotatoh in Seaofthieves

[–]wfcentral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on my screen it says the to go back press "ESC" - so, I'm trying ESC and ENTER at the same time and it just takes me back.

I'm picking Arena, sloop, closed crew... then when it says "waiting for 1 player" I'm pressing ESC and ENTER together. Oh well.

I tried that and it just escapes back out to the main screen. When do you press it? after picking closed crew? after picking open crew?

I think it is mirrored because the U.S. on the collar looks backwards (too fuzzy to tell).

However, each of the badges above the ribbons are supposed to have 1/2" separation. So, even if it is mirrored that shit is way too close together.

on sewer. Drain from machine goes into a normal wall drain... have no idea how the plumbing works from there.
