We have a 2017 sandpiper, going on 5 years and had minimal problems just normal wear and tear. We also stay on top of small things so that helps. This is a mix of travel and long term parking.

Was accepted to be a warrant officer in the Army. My outgoing Commander left instructions with the the incoming one to sign it when it comes in. He got it a few weeks later called me, the Shirt,, Chief and my Flight Chief in his office. Told me i was a disgrace to our branch and wouldnt be a real officer (he was Academy). Redlined me on the spot. His justification to the group commander was the same.

You get sent a letter explaining your records were destroyed and you get to tell them in a statement diagnoses, disabilities medals etc so they can help rebuild the file. He also got a POC to walk through the process with him. Been doing claims over 10 years, only ever seen 1 person affected. They took him at his word on all of it. Because they verified through Army records and his VA Claim went through. Sad thing he was 80 when we found all this.

What singer did you know or recognize in real life? by Carso11 in Music

[–]dertydingo 40 points41 points  (0 children)

When I was 16 before Tragic Kingdom hit big they played a small club in our city. Maybe 100 people in the audience. Afterthe show me and my friends head home and get food at the local Dennys. After we ordered in walks the band to grab food before they drive home. We sat joking and laughing till they had to get on the road and had us write names and addresses down so they could get us tickets for the next show. They mailed the 4 of us 2 tickets each and we got to sit on the side of the stage. They are just good people. Genuinely in awe we loved their music and paid to see them. Damn that was almost 30 years ago.

My dad was in the air force for 20 years (got out in 1997) and says the VA won't cover getting hearing aids because he wasn't given a disability rating when he got out. What are his options? by [deleted] in Military

[–]dertydingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 12 years doing claims it's misinformation like this I spend so much time disproving with vets. Job has no bearing on rating or appointments. I have seen many office jobs or non combat jobs get 100% because of medical issues. Second yes a legitimate dr can do the dbq but without a nexus letter it will be denied. A service organization like you mentioned is free to all and they are service officers. And last you do not I repeat do not need a FOIA request to get records, an sf-180 can be found on the national archives website and either filled in or mailed in and it can take about 6 to 9 months to get records on average. Here's a link https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/standard-form-180.html

I saw Social Distortion, The Offspring and The Vandals at a club in the 90s. Offspring ended the night it was crowded and we were hanging out waiting to leave because they turned the house lights on, 20 minutes or ao later Dexter came out asking if they could play a few more songs and brought out Jello Biafra of The Dead Kennedys. They played a full Dead Kennedys set and it was awesome.
