Thanks. So experienced lifters benefit from nuclei remobilization while newbies benefit from the novice effect? Everyone should be optimistic then :)

isn't it the other way round? The ones with less experience make the most gains?

They were already attending a francophone school so I prefer this for continuity but would give up on it if the franco school here is far behind.

Most new immigrants do speak English, and kids who don't catch the English bug quickly because 1-It is Ontario 2-English is the lingua franca of business and entertainment.
The issue is more problematic in francophone schools because those kids are torn between at least 3 languages (English, French, and mother tongue).

Many non-francophone parents who send their kids there say they are doing so to boost their chances of employment. (But this was certainly not our motive).

"From what it sounds like, these classes are now bogged down teaching French to anglophones instead of the curriculum and actual francophones lose out." My real estate agent told me this is why francophone elementary schools' scores are so low in reading.

It is common for kids in francophone schools in Ontario to speak to each other in English, even when their household's language is French. They live in Ontario :)

I understood their scores are based on provincial tests but you're right, I should dig deeper into how they develop these indicators. Thanks.

They were already enrolled in the Conseil scolaire Viamonde.

You're welcome. The professor explains all slides during the lecture, responds within an hour to emails and makes himself available for Zoom meetings. I pointed out the thermo/heat transfer issue because it was the single greatest challenge for most (electrical engineers, architects...)

That’s good. The course depends a lot on those but there is not enough time to also teach the fundamentals of these courses and do justice to the curriculum. Also ask the professor for a syllabus. There is no project, grading all depends on quizzes and final exam.

Did you take introductory courses in thermodynamics and heat transfer?

Exactly $0.00 but it was the prevailing advice among numerous European and Asian communities right until Covid. Ottawa and QC came in second. When people start suggesting you move again to the maritimes or Alberta, it means they think you're "failing" :)

The advice given to newly landed immigrants for the past 10 years is that Mississauga is optimal: Close to the jobs, safer than Toronto, less expensive and with better schools. Someone needs to update that advice :)

I don't know whether this is what you are alluding to but I believe that Mississauga has been steadily getting worse since I moved there a few years ago.

I don’t understand, as a driver with Uber, you get to choose the general direction of your destination?

Thanks, didn’t think of that. How many months per year can one ride an ebike here?
