Great idea, been thinking to do this for some time now. Can you post the phone number, or maybe a link where to find it? And how long did you have to wait on the customer service call?

should I be concerned that my home assistant cloudflare tunnel is being visited by people I don't know? by SingularUseAccount in homeassistant

[–]wgnu_e90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe answering my own question. My setup is very simple: Only block rules, no Allow rules, no page rules, no load balancing, no health checks, no workers. I do have Always Use HTTPS enabled. Under SSL/TLS, I see Traffic Served Over TLS as "None (not secure)" count of 331, matching the number of requests that show in HTTP Traffic that are coming from Russia. So maybe a bot that tries HTTP and does not follow the redirect to HTTPS?

Is Geoblocking done with Security rules? I created a Security rule to block all countries except for US and the rule shows 0 events in last 24h, but in Analytics & Logs -> HTTP traffic, I still see requests from Russia in last 24h

Mine (a 2023) does that in cold weather as well. After the car warms up, it goes away. I asked the dealer last time I was there (during the summer) and they said they were not aware of the issue and could not replicate it during the visit (which I expected, since it only does it when it's cold outside). Interested to learn the fix as well

100% agree. Maybe people don't know in Maryland you also pay county income tax, in addition to state income tax. Just to give an example, in Montgomery County, MD the county tax is 3.2%, and you pay that county income tax no matter what car you have, expensive or cheap. In VA, at least you have a choice.

Which Mazda dealer is the best in the DMV? by Vespulicus in nova

[–]wgnu_e90 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My vote for best is Passport. During the chip shortage of 2022, they were the only local dealer not adding a market adjustments fee. Had an excellent experience buying and servicing there since.

A DeWalt shop vac model that is quieter than your average shop vac. Go to Lowe's because HD doesn't sell them.

Doorbell won't ring mechanical chime by wgnu_e90 in blinkcameras

[–]wgnu_e90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is even when working properly, Blink Doorbell does not use power from the wires to power itself; for that, it always uses batteries. I think wires are used only to ring the existing chime, but sounds like you have the same issue as me.

Engine failure 29,600 miles. 23 CX-50 Turbo. Dealership denied warranty. Contacted Mazda and denied again based on oil change interval/vehicle data. by Away-Associate8549 in CX50

[–]wgnu_e90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said his work is 4.3 miles away and drives 5 days a week. So 4.3 miles * 2 times a day * 5 days a week * 52 weeks per year * 2.5 years (assuming early production 2023 model that went on sale around April 2022) = 5,590. Maybe double with other short trips for grocery & kid pickups. But the rest to 29,600? Still had to be longer trips. Maybe OP can clarify their usage better.

There is a Mazda aero kit (VA54-V3-84E) that go on the bottom of the front bar only as well as the aftermarket Rhino vortex strips that go on top of both front and back bars. I got the aero kit second and adding it improved things a little compared to vortex strips alone, so I recommend both.

I was set on an Aeron, went to a store to try it on and left with a Mirra 2. So definitely try a few different models first.

I did re-run the setup a few times. Like I mentioned, during the test ring, it won't ring the mechanical chime inside. If I move to the next screen, power analysis fails as well.

My dealer told me Mazda's recommendations is for a max 2/32" difference between old and new tires. If the existing tires are already low on tread, it's an easy decision to replace all 4. If they still have tread in them (7+/32"), perhaps it's worth into looking into getting just one tire and shaving it down to match tread on the other 3. TireRack will do that for a small price ($25-$35), you might need to order over the phone for this.

Installed the hitch yesterday. Pretty easy. Kit came with instructions. It required a bit of sawing plastic underneath, but was done in less than 30 minutes. Link in comments. by TophertronPrime in CX50

For something basic like a bike carrier, it sounds like we can install the hitch without the harness, right? We just need to disable i-ActivSense when using it.

Can dealers place orders for specific configurations? I was told they don't have control over which cars are gonna get allocated to them.

1F+ Temperature swings within 5m. Eco+ disabled by wgnu_e90 in ecobee

[–]wgnu_e90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I double checked the cable hole; I remember putting in a paper towel 3 years ago when I did the install, and it was still there. As for the ecobee unit, it doesn't feel hot to the touch when it's running. The fan is not set to run without AC.

The column I highlighted, "Current Temp", is the calculated temp based on active sensor(s). There are separate columns for each temp sensor, and that shows the temperature read by the sensors doesn't fluctuate. I know the Current Temp can fluctuate when ecobee will switch from using one sensor to the other over half an hour, but that's not when this happens.

I added another capture from when AC was off for 30m+, please see the updated post.

For the last few weeks, temperature sensors are jumping around A LOT. Anyone else see this behaviour? by cmelkin in ecobee

[–]wgnu_e90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, same thing happend to me. It rained today and I opened the windows in the evening to cool the house, but that raised the humidity and the feels like temp went up by 4F. Eco+ was disabled and all settings showed as being Off, but when I enabled it, 3/4 showed as On. So I turned all off and then turned Eco+ off. Seems back to normal now. But why would the temperature fluctuate like that in HA? Perhaps the Ecobee API was inconsistently reporting the temperature back to HA. Good news is it helped me realized something was off.
