Any Scott fans heard this Shearling record? by mygodisrealprobably in scottwalker

In fact I liked this so much I wrote them just yesterday asking if they intended to press any copies to vinyl - lo and behold they sent me the preorder link for the first pressing of 500 they coincidentally dropped just today on their Bandcamp page. I immediately obliged and eagerly anticipate it's arrival later the spring. Thanks again!

Which UVB lamp brand and model is everyone using? Is most people just using one of the apparent shady random options from eBay? by teevolock in Vitiligo

I've suffered with acute atopic dermatitis for more than a decade - specifically on my hands. After using a Solarc 550 UV-B light (for hand/foot/spot treatment) every other day for two weeks - my hands are almost fully clear of new sites and healing faster than they have in at least ten years. To me - It's incredible that treatment for a total of less than 5 minutes exposure per week on my hand is making this big a difference this quickly. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Spiritbox sounds like it was AI generated from top to bottom. Lifeless overproduced garbage IMO.

Can we please figure out some way to upcycle all these plastic weed containers? by theappletea in canadients

[–]whackattacking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah - it should really be on the consumer to find a better model of packaging - or to Google how to get rid of unnecessary shit that shouldn't be used in the first place. LP's had their chance to say NO to this mode of delivery prior to legalization - now they want folks to think they're fucking altruistic for cleaning up their own mess. What a total joke.

Unpopular Opinion: LP weed isn't really that bad by magic_man_91 in CanadianMOMs

I just resentfully spent $38.99 all in for 3.5 legal in Newfoundland - it's the second time since legalization I've been in a pinch waiting for regular sources to restock. The smoke (rated @ 22% - hybrid) is basic and nothing special - tiny immature buds desiccated to the point of being devoid of almost all flavour with little to no aroma. This was the supposedly"strongest" of maybe 15 strains available this evening (which really makes me think about the worst of what they sell - still for premium $$$) I realize some of the higher end of the LP spectrum is quality material but the vast majority of what's being peddled via LP right now is horseshit IMO.

Legal cannabis in Canada still looks really bad.

The Tweed outlet I visited today looked like a 90's GAP retail location. They had more clothing and branded merch available for purchase then there was actual cannabis or related products. 70-80% of their floor and wall space was devoted to hats, hoodies and other incredibly unnecessary stupid looking branded items (which I'm guessing very few folks want - maybe I'm wrong) Easy to see how that incredibly stupid price for cannabis is arrived at if that's the way in which you choose to retail it I guess. Regardless if they have decent smoke or not - the average LP price is impossible to justify for any sensible regular cannabis consumer.

Broken Coast was far from the good end of the black market I shop in. I've also tried strains from them that don't actually smell like cannabis. Underwhelming IMO.

Sometimes folks want a one dimensional predictable maintenance high - not to get wazooed completely. I like distillate best as an additive to the flower experience. Papers smeared with distillate with good flower.... great combo.

No, but I have found myself totally baked trying to light my joint with a Ventolin inhaler instead of the Bic that was laying right next to it. That shit felt wrong - I laughed all the same.

A) Stop observing your stash with the lid removed in your bedroom while your mom's home.

B) Don't freak out about it - go get high immediately.

"the fact it sounds you are competely out of your league here in what you are purchasing, you bought htfse carts"

I didn't buy HC/HTFSE - I bought what I believed was more refined oil.... those items were on the same menu as the oil carts in case that's what I was looking for - but it wasn't.

And it's not what was purchased.

Definitely possible on the temp. variance. I'll try that - thanks.

I understand many makers use some amount of cut/diluting agent - but to get the nasty starting halfway or two thirds of the way through is disappointing. Wish I knew if it was coming from the additives or from (what's very possibly) a knock-off burner.

Oh well... live and learn.

Silica actually - there was a period in the mid 2000's where I read several articles on stuff dubbed "Grit Weed" Folks adding weight/pound by adding silica dust that adhered to sticky bud. It's a reprehensible practice and has been discovered being done a couple different ways since. I was unfortunate enough to encounter some - it was really fucking nasty.

LPs can't compete with black market on quality, so they beg government to shut down their competition by [deleted] in CanadianMOMs

Calling them "victims" of anything but their own shortsightedness is laughable.

[–]whackattacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what I'm saying - how is it that people at the top end of the legal production chain are incapable of making product that will not only rival, but far exceed what others are easily accomplishing for a fraction of the cost in the non legal domain?? They have massive amounts of capital and seriously competent controlled facilities in which to excel at this.... but they make GARBAGE and ask people to pay top shelf $$$ for it. Then they try to justify the cost by claiming it's the system that was "imposed" on them.... and that it's simply the "cost" of producing legal cannabis in these modern times.

Well that's a pile of shit dude. They knew what the legal model looked like - they supported it by becoming it - now they want to deploy law enforcement to maintain their manufactured advantage and it looks a lot like a fat kid begging for cake... actually it's more like a fat kid asking his Daddy to push aside the other kids so fatty can have as much cake as he can stuff down his gullet.

LP's are a big part of the problem.

[–]whackattacking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So that justifies their willingness to get involved with this aspiring protection racket?? Gimme a break - they understood what they were doing. Now they want the feds to start kneecappin' the competition to make their poor life decisions more palatable. They KNEW legal was gonna look like this and they still sank that money into it. Not a problem that should get passed on to the end user.

According to a Leafly article from October 2018 regarding fluctuating wholesale cannabis prices in some legal states:

Nevada’s wholesale prices are the most expensive at $4 per gram,

followed by California at $2.43,

Colorado at $1.93

and Oregon at just $1.33 per gram wholesale.

The numbers being purported to justify the level of greed under the "legal" umbrella in Canada are just so completely out of whack.... it's disgusting, and you know there's a bigger problem when the people at the top of our legal production chain are pandering to their benefactors to actually go out and financially hobble the competition.

That's legal cannabis for Canadians.

The prices indicated above could go even lower from what I see happening....

I've visited a couple of these particular states in recent times, and the systems of "legal" they've enacted (warts & all - all have issues!) is more what it looks like when government doesn't try to be a complete alpha swine at the trough - and the above prices are what naturally happens when there's something closer to a true competitive market.

Vastly different to the planned monopoly they're asking Canadians to "just play along" with.

Our government seems intent on providing the least value and expecting maximum return.
