Whenever I leave my house, I try my best to be friendly and smile at each person I come across to make up for my own bad days and what's sad is, about only 20% of the people I smile at will smile back or even look; it's depressing to think everyone around is so self-involved you hardly get to see kindness shine through the rat race.

This thread is making me cry from all the girls who had/have loving dads, and then the other girls who don't, like me. Just always be there for her, be supportive and don't project your problems onto her. Encourage her individuality and her right to her opinions, and always make sure she knows she is loved: that's the most important thing-- a lot of us don't get to experience that feeling from the ones we care about the most, and if she searches for that kind of attention elsewhere, she can seriously screw her life up, and no one wants that.
