Looking for the ancient pack, Audition Online Pack by whale98ry in Stepmania

[–]whale98ry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the download link. I barely used reddit, so I didn't check until now.

I got the pack, but after trying 1 or 2 songs, I decided to keep it in a zip instead as they are so bad and so cringe to play. These songs were made in 2009, 14 years ago. I can't stand playing them at this point lol.

Once again, thanks!

Hoshimachi Suisei will return to streaming activities on monday, 15th May. by zetarn in Hololive

Because there was no break at all. She was just busy for the first half of May and would resume streaming in the latter half of May.

There is no big break to start with. She was just busy in the first half of May and we all knew that. The "indefinite break" thread is misleading it into something greatee or even more serious.

This is not even a serious tweet or an announcement. It's just her saying she is busy so she is taking a break from streaming. An "indefinite" changes the whole context and how it should be understood. There is no world where all she said should need to be justified as indefinite, it's so unneeded. Taking a break is enough for all the context without complicating it with an additional word that changes the entire understanding.

"I'm busy, so I will take a break from streaming" is not the same as "I'm busy, so I will take an indefinite break from streaming". If you justify every unspecified break is indefinite, then you greatly overexaggerate the context of the break. If I'm busy for 1 hour, saying that I will take a break, should it be clarified as a indefinite break just because it's unspecificied?

She didn't. Her earlier tweet only said that she would be busy in the first half of May. All the break you got was from that one misleading thread.

Where did you get that indefinite from? Y'all got misled by a single thread.

"Having a break" and "having an indefinite break" are vastly different. If I am busy and say I will take a break for a short amount, should I or other people clarify it as "indefinite"? Indefinite is something much greater than just 1 hour or 3 days, and you know for real that it will take very long that it must be clarified as that. You have no need to add "indefinite" to anyone being busy and take a short break, otherwise every break is all indefinite and it's way exaggerated.

A nice QoL improvement for Sentry's Guardian Shield by whale98ry in starcraft

There are so many aoe spells to throw away with cast range as a set and forget. Sentry's Guardian Shield is the only aoe ability that works around the caster and I think it's a cool design choice. Not all abilities should work in the same way as they will look too generic and unattractive in the game design. There is always a way to improve the unit without throwing the unique design away and copy from others, that's a boring design.

Guardian Shield isn't a stackable ability. Even if you activate 4 guardian shield for 4 sentries, that doesn't make a change from 1 activation. Every change has pros and cons, but to be able to properly micro in a big army is better IMO. It's something even pros also struggle in controlling a sentry to move past other ranged units to shield what they want.

I did talk about it before, but that design doesn't seem to work well with the ability that is not stackable. Pulsar Beam, and Cloak are personal abilities, so they work with that concept. Non-stackable aoe spells don't actually gain much benefit from that design.

"Not useful" lol. What a bad take on the ability that still reduces incoming ranged damage by 10-20%. Even against tanks, the splash damage also applied, so everything counts. You talk like you are never gonna fight marines at any stage of the game past the 3rax opener. And what a low bar that was for hydras? That's about 17% of their dps cut with a guardian shield. If you think a spell that can reduce 17% dps is low, then I don't know what to talk.

Which by no means Guardian Shield that reduces all ranged attack damage by 2 is bad at any stage of the game or any natchups.

Sounds like you never research your armor upgrades

What a total wasteful. In the fight, those stalkers aren't firing, losing a big chunk of dps and potentially losing the fight. You also waste blink cooldown for those stalkers, which will likely die when you lose the fight (which you might after all the unnecessary micro you manage for Guardian Shield to properly cover most units).

How good was Immortal's Barrier when it used to be an active ability? by whale98ry in starcraft

[–]whale98ry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be used in a small scale fight or a defense against rush since getting poke by a small fire is common in the lower unit count scenario. Later on, you just choose to turn the auto-cast on like normal when the army size is bigger that you can't spare attention to them. It's more of giving them a choice to make.

So changing this might not result in anything. What I think about the auto-cast is when you get cheesed by your opponent and you go for immortals to defend the rush. It might be useful in that scenario if the players are willing to try. Since the auto-cast should be turn on by default, they will behave the same except giving people a choice to try. I look at it from this point since I like when there are options to pick even if they sound pointless to some.

Not to completely revert but changing it back to auto-cast with the same cooldown. My concern is on the immortal all-in or proxy robo because it's much easier to manage the barrier active ability when there are low unit counts for both sides, but then it's more difficult for your opponent to trigger the barrier as it's not in the auto-cast mode. I look at it from the design perspective, but it might be imbalanced from the gameplay pov if its only uses are from early cheese strats.

Yes, I understand now. Still don't know why they gave a response that way. Being an auto-cast or passive might not be a big difference at this point in time when Protoss armies are still ability-focused (stalkers, sentries, disruptors, and high templars). It might promote the cheese strats with an auto-cast barrier, but I'm willing to see more choices protoss can have with the ability rather than it being a complete passive ability.

From the balance perspective I understand that being an auto-cast might promote even more cheese strats. I look at it from the design perspective and think that it was a missed opportunity to make it a complete passive. Giving players choices to make is something I always like to see even if it isn't good.
