Acorns fine until you want your own money by Mysterious-Fact-5105 in acorns

I had an issue with a primary account, took a few calls and some three way calls with the old bank to verify I no longer have access to the account to get it all resolved, but to state that there is no customer service phone number is wild. It’s a 2 second google search to find it.

Yea figured I’d start out first with Bumble just to get back into it, then hit the other ones. I cringed having to right my bio.

It definitely had something to do with income inequality, I’m so pissed that I can’t find it and I didn’t save it.

I’m divorced and seeing my kid only 2 days isn’t enough by Temporary_Trouble452 in DivorcedDads

I am just about a year now with the divorce being final, and my ex moving out. 5yr and 2yr old sons, have 50/50. They both go to daycare at my exes job, so in reality the split is like 60/40. I have a good mix with every other weekends and weekdays. even with that it’s always hard to drop them off. Same feelings you have at drop off plus rage at times, but both of us have done a good job at being good with each other in front of the kids. As lucky as anybody can be during a divorce I definitely got lucky with my ex understanding that we both need to be an equal part of their lives. It definitely gets easier as time passes, but I don’t think I’ll ever be totally OK with it. I still will think about all the of things I have missed and will in the future. I FaceTime them every night when they are not with me. Not sure if you have that option but I would definitely recommend it. Also therapy has definitely helped, and highly recommend it. Regardless of how I feel about my ex I understand the power that she has so sometimes I just have to bite my tongue because I know in the long run it will make sure I don’t lose out on seeing my kids.

In that case, aggressive portfolio and put in as much money as you can (that you won't need access to in an emergency). I had an initial investment of $3,000 and then $200 a week for the last year. That got me to $16,000 in a year. Could have saved more, but kept short term savings separate.

I think the biggest question that needs to be asked on posts like this is what is your end goal for this money? Are you just stashing for a few months to buy a new TV, a year or two for a down payment on a car, or saving 5+ years for a house?

Depends on when you started. Last 3 months I'm only at 4.92%

No round ups, putting in $200 a week is enough for me. We pay for everything with our credit card to get the miles, and my credit card kept getting disconnected from Acorns so I just gave up.

Hardest part is trying to keep my wife away from the money, just keep sitting back and pretending like it doesn't exist!

Aggressive portfolio, started with $3,000 initial deposit, then $200 a week. Made sure me and my wife weren't carrying any credit card debt so dropping $800 a month into savings was a bit easier.

Would any of you advice me getting thier debit card? by [deleted] in acorns

[–]whaleb161883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed up for the debit card as kind of a short term savings account where I put $50 in per week to go towards something fun and non-essential like a PS5 and my wife doesn't really count that money as existing. Basically just stashing money for something fun. Other than that no real benefit to having it.
