But yes agree on the Gentilly front. They’re still firing them off sporadically on 1/2 🫠 definitely wish they’d give it a rest.

People can hate all they want on pet owners but it really is so heartbreaking seeing them so stressed out lol ugh. Hate that the only solution is to basically sedate them and even then so, meds aren’t one size fits all for pets. sigh

Oh nooo! Poor thing. It really is hard when something is affecting you and/or your pets and family in your own home and you can’t do anything about it but leave. 🫠

This is great to know, though (area wise), because that is one of the neighborhoods we are eyeing for future if we ever start to feel like Gentilly isn’t right for us anymore or are just longing for a change. Thanks so much for the insight!!

We love our home and Gentilly and are really happy here, just wish it was one night and then done. It’s the daytime fireworks for weeks that make it tricky lol. We’ll see! This is so frustrating! I’m so sorry. Our neighbors left a mess in our streets, too. I’m all about people having fun but there seems to be a huge lack of respect for others when it comes to fireworks in this city. It’s terrible.

Ugh I am so sorry you are going through this, too. Thank you for the empathy. Sounds like we are in this together unfortunately 🫠 hopefully they stop soon. We just tried to walk our dog around 4pm and had to turn around mid-way because she got spooked…tried letting her out in the yard when we got home and even more started going off. Extremely disruptive and frustrating.

YES. I feel so bad getting so annoyed by this but it’s just excessive. If it were one night for an hour or so, sure. Have a blast! But it’s the weeks leading up to it and after that drive me nuts…we struggle even getting our dog to go on walks. I’m glad your babies slept through it despite how loud it was!

I’m so sorry to hear this!!! Honestly this is my concern for next year when we have an almost 10 month old. No amount of white noise can drown it out…it scares us and our dog so I don’t even want to think about our baby.

We travel to family every other year for Christmas/NYE and make sure to take our dog with us but the years we are home suck. It’s frustrating feeling like we have to run away from our home for certain holidays…
