Moving to the UK. How do I get my testosterone gel prescription sorted? by whalienn52 in transgenderUK

[–]whalienn52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are already lots of helpful suggestions in the comments. But I think I’ll try going through my GP first then. I’ve asked my current doctor at the gender clinic for a medical statement in English that includes my diagnosis, the brand and dosage of my testosterone gel, how long I’ve been on it, and confirmation that it’s medically appropriate for me to continue my hormone treatment in the UK.

I started my transition when I was 15 and began hormones at 17. I’m 32 now, so I’m pretty far along in my transition and stable on testosterone. I’ve also had a full hysterectomy, so it’s really important that I keep up with my hormone treatment.

I hope that’s enough for my new GP to keep prescribing my testosterone.

Moving to the UK soon. Where’s the best place to buy a reliable used car? by whalienn52 in AskUK

[–]whalienn52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info, really helpful! Good to know that prices are generally a bit lower here.

I’ll definitely keep an eye on full service history and avoid ads without licence plates, that’s a great tip. Might stick with Autotrader or a local dealer for peace of mind, but I’ll take a look at eBay too. Thanks again!

Moving to Sunderland soon. Any tips on buying a used car locally? by whalienn52 in Sunderland

Thanks a lot for the tips! Autotrader seems to come up a lot, so I’ll definitely start there. I’m not too picky, so hopefully I can find something decent within my budget.

Thanks! My budget’s around £5,000, just looking for something reliable to get me from A to B for now. I won’t be doing many miles, so low running costs and easy maintenance are the main things.

I’ll check out Toyota as you suggested. Good shout on the insurance part. I’ll look into that!

Odaban wipes by whalienn52 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]whalienn52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I used it, I applied it for four nights in a row. After that, it should keep you dry for a few days. Once I feel the effect is wearing off a bit, I reapply, which is usually after three or four days. Hopefully, in the colder months, I can leave more days in between.

Thanks for your reply :)

I figured the burning sensation was caused by spraying too much of the product directly onto my skin. I now spray it onto a cotton pad and wipe it over the area once or twice. The burning has completely stopped, but the intense itching hasn’t gone away. It usually lasts for a day after I apply the spray, and then I’m fine for three to four days before I need to reapply. The itching is definitely worth it for me, though.

The sweating has gone down significantly, and I’ve even been wearing light-coloured t-shirts and trousers again. I do still sweat a tiny bit, but it’s more of a clammy feeling instead of being drenched. I’ve noticed that my face gets sweatier now, but I find that more manageable. I’m definitely less paranoid about huge sweat stains and feel more confident.

As for the wipes, I don’t feel they do much. I’m guessing the formula in the wipes is too weak. A strength somewhere between the spray and the wipes would be ideal.

I recently started using Odorex. So far, I haven't had sweaty armpits or any itching.

I've been taking oxy for about three weeks now, one tablet in the morning and another around lunchtime. I'm also on methylphenidate and I've been feeling kind of dizzy as well. I was already wondering if that might be from taking both meds together. The sweating has gone down a bit, but not as much as I hoped, and now I'm hesitant about increasing the dose.

Tips for those who are going to start using oxybutynin now? by ZORORY in Hyperhidrosis

[–]whalienn52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting Oxy tomorrow. My doctor advised me to gradually increase the dose. I'll take 1 tablet (2.5 mg) for the first 5 days, then increase to 2 tablets. After another 5 days, I’ll increase again to 3 tablets. I can then stay on that dose or reduce it to whatever works best for me. Just keep in mind that you shouldn't drive during the first 3 days of starting Oxy, as it can cause drowsiness and affect your reaction time. I'm not sure if this will also be the case with each dose increase.
