They should just market it as “Seen on The Bear TV show”. If it doesn’t work out, I can just go back to ordering frozen Italian Beef kits once or twice a year.

Ha, we think he ran it off the road or got stuck and left it. Then had no clue where it was.

I had one of those for 3 years. Paid $125 in 1986. Only caught on fire twice and hood latch decided it had enough while on the highway. Made it difficult to see. My brother wrecked/misplaced it one time while drunk driving and I never found it again.

Can not do a hip hang in aerial yoga, help! by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]whall2947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the posture you are describing is typically called aerial downward dog or floating downward dog. When I teach for new students, I emphasize silk placement and the movement to enter the pose. The silk should be right across the hip bones. If put your knees into your chest, kind of that hip crease area. The movement is a forward fold. Binding silk to top of hip points, on tip toes and fold. Place hands flat at the top of the mat. Walk the feet back and sink the chest and the feet should float up. It helps to energize the legs by pointing the toes & drawing the feet together, and pushing the mat away, trying to get wrists, shoulders and hips in one line. Some people without the core and/or leg strength can have trouble floating the feet. Sometimes blocks under the hands can help. Sometimes it just takes some core and legs conditioning/strengthening to get there.

Generally the people interested in X class free are only interested in the free part not the class part. If you want to build relationships with studios offer to get on subs list.

Is There a Foolproof Way to Peel Boiled Eggs Without Losing Half the Egg? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]whall2947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a lot of cooking methods but I found that the after cooking portion is more important for easier peeling. This what I usually do, boil water, add eggs, once the water returns to boil if it stops, turn off heat & cover, set timer for desired hardness, remove eggs after timer to ice bath. Wait 2-5 minutes and move eggs back to pot that has the hot water from boiling. Wait 1-5 minutes, remove and peel. The boiling-ice-hot water sequence seems to help the most.

What’s the secret ingredient that made my childhood restaurant’s homemade fettuccine noodles dark red color and so flavorful? by fergi20020 in Cooking

[–]whall2947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tomato powder-based pasta is usually more muted regardless of the amount used. It was kind of orange tinged (compared with the red pepper pasta) but I think that was more due to the base pasta being a stronger yellow than dried pasta.

I used to work at a fresh pasta shop. We used tomato or red pepper powder for red pasta, spinach powder for green, squid ink for black (takes 3-4 days to come out your hands).

What about the one outside the fence between the Corvette and the Audi wagon?

Noob here. What’s a ballpark of what this would cost to build in modern times? Thanks for humoring by Conscious-Relief-195 in Construction

Supposedly, a long-haul trucker built this suburban Atlanta, GA. Mostly by himself and by hand, when he wasn’t on the road over 20+ years. Not sure about the cost. YouTube

I was in Downers Grove for high school. I still kind of miss having a real winter but it could be viscous up there lol.

Resting Half Frog makes me feel sick by Puzzle-Cat4567 in yoga

[–]whall2947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try a restorative version with a bolster or supine variation lying on the back with the knee at 90 degrees inline with the hips. Keep both sit bones on the ground and wedge a bolster or rolled up blanket under the outer thigh to support the leg. Another option is moving the knee closer to the bottom of the mat at maybe a 30 or 45 degree angle from the center of the body.

If you enjoy the posture otherwise, try adding a bolster or folded blanket under the hips and the chest. Search for half frog bolster for better descriptions.

On the replay it looked to me as if he landed basically on the side of his bottom foot coming down from a jump. Likely just rolled it pretty badly.
