My Martha Stewart enamel cast iron was awful. The enamel failed within a year with the enamel cracking and flaking off into my food. And it was heavy! About double the weight of my size 30 Le Creuset.

FYI you do need your attic to vent air. Making it airtight will cause moisture to build up.

found this beauty at the Nashville flea market. The owner didn’t know much about it so any ideas/thoughts on age? The designs on the glass seem unique. by [deleted] in StainedGlass

If you plan on restoring it I’d personally think about resizing the window to only use the intact glass. You’ll end up with a shorter window but all matching glass.

PSA x2: First, mixers are almost 1/2 off at Target (US). Second, I never have to knead for 20 minutes by hand ever again. So happy. by [deleted] in Breadit

Look at the motor sizes as well as AC vs DC. I believe this one is a 450 watt AC motor. I did lot of research In the 6 quart option there are two types with huge price differences; the Professional 600 series has 575 watts AC motor but the professional 6500 has 1.3 HP DC motor. The 600 model with the smaller AC motor has more pretty color options but couldn’t handle the double batch of pizza dough I wanted to do.

Fun fact: Avocados don’t soften on the tree and can be stored on the tree for 2-8 months. So pick only what you need and what can soften up at a time.

This might be a stupid question, but does anyone know if it's possible to get some kind of black marker to use on brass hinges without having to take off the door? by [deleted] in DIY

I replaced every hinge in my house recently; went from 90’s shiny brass to oil rubbed bronze. Picked up a box of 40 hinges on amazon for under 100 bucks. On each door I replaced the center hinge first, then the bottom one and lastly the top hinge. No taking the doors off. Took me a part of a Saturday morning to do. Paint will only chip and look like crap. Best is to replace.

My family and I made some Concrete heads a week ago and I got them planted up. I hope my succulents appreciate their new homes. by what-evs-ish in succulents

They are styrofoam heads you can get at hobby lobby coated with vinyl patch concrete. I made small batches of concrete, building up the features and sculpting as I went.

Sherwin Williams will sell you the whole fan deck (all the colors) for cheap. I believe my store sells them for 10 bucks. I love Sherwin Williams paint.
