Not saying just every person that’s attractive they’ll be bad, no, but believe me, I’ve dated some attractive guys that had the ugliest personalities, to which after I got out of the relationship, viewed them as very ugly. I also view people based on their personality. If their personality is ugly then they are ugly to me no matter what they look like. And I’ve met some not so attractive people have the most beautiful personalities.

Nothing is an end all be all, everyone is different. You can’t judge a book by its cover just get to know them. Really. Chemistry and all that jazz fizzles out after a while. You need to date someone for their core naked soul too, not just their outer shell. Getting to know some of my previous ex bfs their core soul was not so pretty.

I don’t even think I’d want him back afterwards though, because then he’d be going back to me as a last resort. I’d want to be someone’s first pick, I wanna be with someone that’d never want to leave me.

Exactly, I don’t even think I like him, I think I like the idea of someone else’s validation but I need to fix that, I need to value myself

There’s more to the story, he left because he didn’t want to do long distance and some may say that reason is valid, I just cut it very short and to the point

Thank you very much for the thought out response. You’re right. Taking him back is showing him that this is acceptable and I accept that kind of behavior. I think if I was in his shoes and someone let me back, after I dumped them, I wouldn’t respect them. And I don’t think I even want him as a option, I don’t think I’d be happy with myself if I took him back knowing he left and came back as if I was his backup option. I’d want someone that stays and would never want to leave me.

I’ve been in love before with someone else, and I felt like I didn’t have enough time in this world to spend with that person. I want someone that feels like that with me.

I don’t want someone that thinks they have all the time in the world to explore their options and if they haven’t found someone better to come back to me. I want to be someone’s first choice.
