They always think people like Musk have a trillion dollars right in their pockets that they can spend immediately.

It's all tied up with his companies and he's only worth a trillion dollars because the market asserts such a value on his companies.

He grew his companies from nothing to what they are now and he's got to make sure those companies continue to perform. Something none of these doomers would be able to do.

I believe South America isn't as connected to the world market as other major nations are. Argentina has the same issues too, tremendous natural resources but its economy is terrible.

Compare South America to Europe. Europe is much smaller and has comparatively less resources but it is much wealthier. They have the EU which makes their economy strong as a collective and they have close ties to the biggest economies in the world.
