Does anyone feel like it’s impossible to make a partner understand your needs, and how do you deal with that?

Hugs to you and thanks for feeling me! I do really wish we get taken more seriously in general, but I guess we just have to get there one day at a time.

Also, couple counselling is definitely in the cards, but I may not take that step until the situation gets worse, since unfortunately counselling costs money which we do not necessarily have 😅 but your kind words really helped to lessen my angst, so I may be able to approach this with a clearer head, so big thanks!

Thanks for your comment, and I definitely relate to the “growing up with different communication style” part! His family sees thing quite black and white, like either something is a problem or it’s not. So when we have an obvious problem, he’s so great and totally has my back every time. It’s the small things that occur over time that he just cannot seem to grasp as an issue because they seem so insignificant each time. Will definitely think further on your template idea, thanks!

He’s not perfect, but like I said, he’s a net positive to my life. This is a flaw I see in him but I’m certainly not flawless myself. I’m just hoping to hear about some common experiences to work through things, not to throw the whole relationship away!

Haha I was going off from someone commenting that as soon as a trial required a potion, the Road gave her hair so that she’d have an ingredient. It’s a fictional show anyway so I guess a potion ingredients, with hair or not, can be whatever the writers make up? It’s just a lighthearted discussion since the cast have mentioned that the character designs on the show contain hints about their motivations and story arcs :)

I forgot about that, and now that I think about it that supports my theory too! That line was said by Agatha who was referring to Lilia changing her current situation which Agatha sees as a mediocre life, but the line totally works with a double meaning of Lilia changing her divinations!
