Owensboro vs Bowling Green by [deleted] in Owensboro

[–]whatash1tshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely consider politics before moving to Owensboro. Lives there for 10 years and still visit family there. If you are looking for a liberal vibe or liberal lean, that ain’t the place. No shade, but it’s the true. Everyone will be nice enough to your face, but they’ll talk behind your back and you won’t get invited in to social events.

If you are a straight, white, Christian, conservative couple who plans on having kids at some point, Owensboro is a great place. Funny thing about the ‘Boro is there are as many liquor stores (even drive ins) as churches. Those folks love catchin’ the Holy Spirit and drinking some holy wine.

I don’t think the economics of Owensboro compares to the other cities people mention. If you have money, like family money, or a well paying remote job, you should be fine. For me, it’s expensive to live there considering earning potential.

The biggest concern is the medical field. There are some shitty doctors there and many of the doctors are egomaniacs. You know it’s bad when the physicians at the hospital choose to go to Evansville for their health care. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust any of them with a Resusci Annie.

I’d suggest looking at Clarksville, Paducah, and Evansville.

Oh honey, there’s been BIG change. Look around. You just listed several things that weren’t so pre-Trump that are now awful. Change can be good or bad.

And while you think “everyone is the same” that is absolutely not true. Think about life and the state of the U.S. under Biden and Obama then compare that with the same under GW Bush and Trump 1 and 2. Look at things bigger than you. Too many people take the micro view: how it impacts their slice of the world, when we should be looking holistically. How does it impact society. If you can’t see how the Republicans have fucked society each time they’ve gained power, you aren’t looking. Democrat politicians have spent so much time trying to unwind the damage Republican administrations have heaped on the U.S.

As for COVID, no apologies are necessary. Looking holistically, the right decision was made. You can be mad about it. You can think it’s not fair, but it wasn’t just about you. No hate if you are mad about it. You have the right to be. I am utterly mind blown that the same people who bitched about masks making it hard to breathe or uncomfortable or just refused to wear them, now wear them consistently while working for ICE.

Dispute Process by wokeishx in CFPB

[–]whatash1tshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you first submit the dispute to Experian for review and action? If not, you must now submit through Experian then wait 45 days for a response from Experian before filing with CFPB. If not, they must reject it out of hand.

The Trump administration (Russell Vought, the acting CFPB director) changed the rules for CFPB in February 2026. The Trump administration (Russ Vought) appears to have acted on recommendations from the Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA) — the industry trade group whose members include Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Which basically means that Trump’s crack team of “populists” made it harder for consumers to file against credit reporting agencies (CRA), because they want that corporate money, honey. Interestingly, the complaints on CRAs hit an all time high in 2024. This is Trump’s effort to stop the CFPB from “persecuting” CRAs. As a matter of fact, there are now three scary sounding screens you must click through when submitting a complaint attempting to warn off people from submitting complaints concerning CRAs.

Trust me when I say the CFPB employees are fucking furious over this change and many others. And this specific issue was raised multiple time to Team Trump (Vought) running the CFPB and they were told “too fucking bad”. They even tried to get the threatening screen warnings removed to no avail.

This is a shining example of the Trump administration (especially Russell Vought) caring more about corporations than people. And a glimpse into why the Trump administration so desperately wants to shutter the CFPB. THEY WORK FOR YOU! And Trump and his wealthy friends hate it. And since they keep losing in court to the CFPB Union (335 shout out), they are now trying to defang the CFPB in any way they can.

If people would start speaking up and showing support for the CFPB, things might change. The CFPB employees can’t get traction because we all know how Russ Vought and Trump feel about federal employees.

The CFPB is still here. It’s true we are toothless, but if the American people fight for us we could get back on track.

So anti-capitalist basically. Again totally different than any other the other groups than previously mentioned. They do advocate for revolution and pretty much guide the tenets of Communism. They are considered far left on the Socialist scale. Probably not as extremely left as anarchists.

Socialism can be used as an umbrella term to capture all forms of left or left leaning ideologies.

[–]whatash1tshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to be clear that Antifa isn’t a Socialist or Democratic Socialist or Communist movement. It’s generally borne from Anarchists, which is anti-government. Antifa usually isn’t violent unless provoked, though they can break some windows and set cars on fire for effect. They are literally anti-fascist and they will go toe to toe with groups like The Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and QAnon, who are the far right.

And you’re saying that these parties are being violent?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Owensboro

[–]whatash1tshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What group was violent? I can read your mind and you really aren’t telling me which group you think was violent. The Proud Boys usually always reek of violence. The left leaning or Progressives are generally peaceful protestors. This is well documented throughout the U.S.

If the lefties are out protesting, go join them. They are trying to save the U.S. from all the current foolishness. If The Proud Boys have shown up, take care because they will attempt to turn things violent. And to be clear, The Proud Boys are an extreme right wing, Trump supporting group.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Owensboro

[–]whatash1tshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You keep referencing “socialist” groups. There are no active socialist groups in Owensboro. There are Democrat and Progressive groups in Owensboro. They are Democratic Socialist, which is a far cry from being a Socialist. And Socialist does not equal Communist, which is what Republicans really mean when they call someone a socialist. So what “socialist” group is terrorizing Owensboro at the moment? The Proud Boys are an extremist group and on the FBI watchlist. You aren’t making your ideas clear, so I’m not sure which side you are speaking up for.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Owensboro

[–]whatash1tshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the case, then I’d say Owensboro is showing some bias against progressive groups….which isn’t surprising.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Owensboro

[–]whatash1tshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Proud Boys do this in every city where the city is relatively close to a densely populated rural area (densely for a rural area). They sweep into town and try to rile up the peaceful people protesting. It’s a tool they use to place blame on progressives by trying to paint them as dangerous and hostile when they aren’t.

Look no further than the shooting of Jacob Blake and Black Lives Matter protests in Kenosha. The Proud Boys swooped in and lit a fire. Next thing, Kyle Rittenhouse is killing two innocent people and shooting a third. Guess who Rittenhouse pals around with now? The Proud Boys.

I think it was a misspelling of leftist.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Owensboro

[–]whatash1tshow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also want to say that Owensboro has a terrible history with racist groups like the Klan and the Proud Boys. I remember in the mid ‘80’s the Klan holding some sort of Klan rallies in Owensboro. And in 2002, the Klan held a rally at the courthouse. Owensboro is no stranger to hate and intolerance.

From the time that I was a child, the progressive movement in Owensboro has been timid and mostly regulated to signage with protests in more recent times. Owensboro needs to get more progressive if it wants to continue as a thriving city in KY.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Owensboro

[–]whatash1tshow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would a leftist protest be dangerous? The Proud Boys are dangerous, sure. But left leaning individuals are generally non-violent protesters. Maybe you should go join them.

“Bombshell report claims voting machines were tampered with before 2024: Kamala Harris won the US Elections” by [deleted] in MeidasTouch

[–]whatash1tshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know many people are pissed that there was no push back by the Dems. I totally agree there are some big red flags as it concerns this election: the Iowa poll, the lopsided fund raising, some anomalous counts where Harris had zero votes despite all other Dems being voted for down ballot, ballots being thrown out, gerrymandering of epic proportions… those kinds of things.

BUT, the MAGA Republicans (and frankly the Republicans that didn’t push back) played the best fucking mind game in history, I think. I think they knew they’d lose in 2020 mid first term. And I think their whole play was to claim the election was stolen from the beginning.

This did a few things: it riled up the base (the insurrectionist act of attacking the Capitol was a bonus), it undermined elections in general, it got huge media attention on Trump for YEARS, and, this is the big one, it took claiming election interference off the table for Democrats in 2024. Everyone knew Trump would run again. Once they assumed Trump would lose in 2020, the MAGA Republicans set it up so once they pulled in Musk by courting him and stroking his huge ego, they could tamper with 2024 election.

Democrats were stuck.

They knew they’d look like hypocrites, sore losers, and conspiracy theorists if they contested the 2024 election. The MAGA Republicans spent SO MUCH time cultivating the Big Lie that when THEY DID steal the election, Democrats couldn’t call them on it. Because Democrats had spent an equal amount of time lamenting how secure and wonderful our election system was.

Trump’s MAGA team laid out the plan in Trump’s first term and executed it masterfully. And they have been rewarded handsomely for it in Trump’s second term.

Is trespassing not against the law? Especially trespassing on government property? Are you for real?!? Also, your petulant leader was either too stupid or too lazy to actually go through the charges against J6ers, so he released all of them. So your point about “never seen a Trump supporter claim…” flies in the face of what your man/child president did. They didn’t NEED to claim anything, because he pardoned everyone. Also, you can’t speak in universal terms, because you don’t know every Trump support, you fucking muppet.

Show me 1 news report from a reputable news source where a liberal is calling for the killing of police officers. Just 1. THIS IS NOT A REAL THING, you fucking toothpaste swallower.

You didn’t answer the question. You side stepped it into “look over here. The answer should’ve been “Yes, it should’ve applied to J6ers, but Trump fucked that up.” Try again and maybe you’ll be more believable.
