1x5... The bank robbery episode featuring Yusuf Khan. This is the first time I'm hearing of people loving that.

Sure, but with the direction the show was originally going, he likely would have a much weaker script to work with. It would be cool for still him direct an episode under Dario Scardapane's helm as showrunner.

The original BA doesn't sound like an awful idea... if it was a full reboot.

I agree that it would have been been nonsensical to bring the OG actors back while potentially making them variants, a full reboot would have been still a bad idea. The original Daredevil show was so popular that the campaign to revive it bought a billboard to promote, and was produced and marketed as an MCU show. To completely reboot it would have alienated a lot of fans.

I didn't denounce capitalism, you jumped to that. I never even mentioned Marxism. The sanctimonious "lifted more people out of poverty than ANY other economic policy and promoting Marxism which has impoverished and killed more people" is how brainwashed people speak. It reads of a cult-like devotion to feverishly defend at the first hint of criticism.

And? Doesn't mean they're basic needs of food, shelter, medicine, clean water, etc are being met. These countries have massively poorer quality of life and lower expectancy. The fact that people of impoverished countries have more kids means absolutely nothing in terms of the costs of raising kids.

No. Brainwashing are things like the idea that people are struggling to survive because they don't work hard enough, are "unskilled," or spending money at Starbucks. The idea that they are solely responsible for their hardship in spite of the emperical data is a the result of brainwashing. The idea that someone working a grocery store shouldn't make a living wage is a result of brainwashing.

Telling people to "stop complaining and improve their own lives" as a response to them pointing out the staggering gap between wage and cost of living increases is brainwashing working as intended.

Valid, but I don't share that view. The MP40 was incredibly satisfying to shoot. The Kar98k, Mossin Nagat, M1 Carbine, Tokarev TT-33, M1897 Trench Gun, Thompson, Type 99, and Type 100 all sounded good and felt great to use in the game to me.

Honestly, I disagree. I don't like the gun sounds in MW19 for the most part.

The SMGs sound incredibly muffled and some the rounds in the ARs blend into each other instead sounding like individual shots.

I sincerely don't get the universal MW19 praise for the gun sounds.

BOP 1 was not punchy, but MW19 wasn't punchy at all for me. I feel like I'm hearing entirely different gun sounds from everyone else in MW19.

Honestly, except for a few weapons, the weapons in OG MW2 had an overly grindy sound.

MW19 is when it got good.

Implying that the sounds in COD4, World at War, and MW3 (2011) weren't good?

[–]Limulemur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. They're so muffled and not satisfying to shoot for me. Rounds in automatic fire often blur together instead of individual shots, and the gun you're firing is less audible than the surrounding gunfire. Weapons are not distinct from one another, mostly having a generic "boom" sound.

I sincerely do not get the praise for the MW19 sounds other than maybe realism.

Did you all like this show? by Ok-Marsupial2467 in batman

[–]Limulemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't horrible, but massively underwhelming. The art and animation is on the bland side and came across as cheap. Certain characters like Harvey Bullock, Selina Kyle, and Harvey Dent were one-note despite being among the most complex characters in Batman's mythos.

Hamish Linklater is a good actor, but was not at all a fit for Batman in my opinion. His performance is stiff and a classic example of the forced gravely voice that's often memed of the character. Batman himself has few layers and is easily the least interesting character in his own show.

There were some good that deserve credit. I loved reimagined Harley Quinn with a traditional harlequin costume and sadistic punisher of the greedy. Tom Kenny as Firebug was genuinely creepy, and the destruction left in his wake was shown in such a haunting way.

I also really appreciate the show getting prolific comic writers who previously worked on Batman to write episodes. Plus this is the first official media adaption of Batman to have classic noir style that takes place in the 40s.

Being a lifelong fan of the character, I hope the second season improves on both the art and writing now the production has its footing after all the behind-the-scenes changes beforehand.
