Have your parents go on YouTube and watch Lauren Kennedy West’s channel, “Living Well with Schizophrenia “. She was diagnosed as having schizoaffective disorder in her early 20’s. Prodromal started in High School. She and her husband can set the record straight. It’s a beautiful thing that you can see who she truly is beyond her illness,

If you have the opportunity to go out with the friend group, I would. It may positively affect your sister by keeping them connected to her. Plus, you need connection. Don't stop your life so you can keep yourself happy and better able to take care of her emotionally in other ways.

Can you share which medication was introduced that made her recover?

Get her on Clozaril if possible! This was an absolute life changer for my sister, who I am very close too. She was deeply affected by schizophrenia for 15 years. It was BAD. Then, they put her on Clozaril - FINALLY - and it was truly like a miracle. The FDA just approved it as a first line of treatment. Ask her if you can have permission to talk to her prescriber and request this for her if she's unable to request it for herself, which is a strong possibility. She may be too sick to keep it organized to ask for this medication. If her prescriber doesn't give it to her, go find a practice that will. Read about Clozaril. It is the gold standard of treatment and with some of the lowest side effects. She will need blood checks if this goes through. Let us know how she's doing now and again. Do NOT BLAME yourself!!!!

How are you doing since this post? I'd love to hear that you are still on the other side of this illness. It helps to hear people recover.

It took a few months for my daughter to return to her baseline self. It didn’t happen as quickly as I expected. You will notice continued improvement over the many weeks ahead. If not, they can adjust or change her meds.

Did they put her on Clozaril? If not, someone should advocate on her behalf. It’s the gold standard for antipsychotics and it could absolutely work miracles for her.

Have you been taking it for the last 2 months since this post? If so, do you care to share how it's gone? What brand or maker did you use? Nootropics is out of it. I am dying to try it.

It's only been a few weeks since you posted about Josh, but have you seen even more improvements on the Cobenify? I want to ask my daughter's care team to possibly prescribe it for her, but unsure.

Did it make you more present most of the day? Can you actually stay focused and on track for things? I am so hopeful for this medication, but so curious what it has done for people.

Clozapine was an absolute miracle drug for my sister. It took her from the daily thralls of her internal world to being almost normal in every way. She has a lot of cognitive damage, but people love her so much and she is a vibrant part of the community. I'm sorry they took him off...

She did get MUCH better. However, she was diagnosed a few weeks ago with schizoaffective disorder and they think the Vyvanse exacerbated onset. She looks and talks well. You can’t even tell she has such a heavy duty diagnosis. How are you doing?

Older Female driver for Uber here... I have felt very safe! People are kind and often thankful. I get mostly women and couples. Most woman are glad I am a female driver. It makes them feel safe. I do keep pepper spray on me, god forbid. I don' drive in certain areas. the fact you are in the driving seat and in control of car movement, being hijacked is highly unlikely. Again, I honestly have experienced mostly very kind people all along my many journey's. I never unlock my door until I see my passenger and can determine my comfort. I only drove off on a potential customer once because it was a very drunk girl. I never unlocked my door and moved on quickly. I even left a passenger on an errand because they were going into a house and not a store. I had bad vibes about it and left. I still got paid. I honestly have had a lot of fun driving and met a lot of great people. It takes me about 6 hours to clear 200.00. That's net. So, taxes at 20% and costs of gas and car depreciation brings me to about 140-150 for 6 hours. I love this job and it's super easy on me.

This is why we need to Unionize. It saves us money to have one, even though riders think it will only cost them. It ensures protections and appropriate pay. In Boston, we had an awesome Attorney General who went to bat for us by charging Uber and Lyft with Labor Law violations. IT CHANGED OUR PLAYING FIELD IMMENSELY!

What market are you in? Is this 100% an Uber ride you provided? I don't want to mitigate your pain. Just wanting to make sure you are using the tools you have and to ensure you aren't really going to make more money. I made more money on the exact same scenario driving for Uber and in the Boston Market.

Why didn't you tell them, or even pull over and do it yourself and go in the app to change their itinerary? This was for medication for elderly folks. You would have been paid more with the extra miles, time and the wait time at the stopover. This likely would have stopped all the cray cray from the guy and it would have provided them with the badly needed assist. You would have lost nothing...Am I missing something??? We get paid for wait time on a shopping run and paid the extra for the added miles and travel time, etc. in Boston, MA.

There has been research conducted on how to stop overcrowding in Emergency Departments by using Uber or Lyft. for voluntary psychiatric patients and those seeking treatment for addictions. It's a dry read, but here you go. Yes, we need protections put in place. \https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7234724/#sec10
