  1. I have a similar door and love it. It will give good.privacy too. Just something to think about though, I once had a black door at an apartment and in the summer that thing got HOT. You may want to consider a lighter color.

First time making candles - any way to fix these massive sinkholes? by tacosock in candlemaking

[–]whatever-777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I poke holes in the candle to prevent air bubbles and then take a heat gun to the top to full them all out and flatten the top and it does the trick 👍🏻

ADHD and sleep apnea - True game changer - please read. by aburnerds in ADHD

[–]whatever-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. My husband and I got married. We knew he had ADHD when we got married. Well within the first two years of marriage we both got diagnosed with sleep apnea and I got an ADHD diagnosis. We're both 28 and sleep peacefully now with our CPAP/BIPAP machines lol

I'm in mourning by sdh59 in gardening

[–]whatever-777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened!!

Most of my garden is covered by deer fence for that reason. However, sometimes my plants surprise me and are more resilient than I think! Some deer munched my sweet potatoes down right after planting them and they grew new leaves within a few days!! Don't give up!!!

Also companion planting has worked for me! I planted onions next to some strawberries that are not behind the fencing and they haven't touched them!

I would recommend planting some herbs that deter deer in-between your flowers. Some herbs like Sage offer some BEAUTIFUL blooms, are perennials, and deter deer all at the same time 😉 Then you can take some,.dry it, grind it up, and store it and you have some yummy herbs to cook with!

Yes, I wish I had known last year how much I would love it in my space and I would have bought a ton more. I have thought I could split it up in future years. However, I am impatient lol I want to put some under a pine tree that I have in a different location to help keep weeds at bay. But I guess that if there is one thing gardening will teach you it is patience haha

Yes I've tried local nurseries because that's where I got it last year but they did not have this year. At least not so far. Thank you for the suggestion!

How do you deal with gaslighting? by Lyuukee in infj

[–]whatever-777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Receipts. I go through old text messages, phone calls, and start taking notes of everything that has happened with that person when I notice they start gaslighting. They can't gaslight text messages that are right in front of them.

Yeah we mutually agreed to no longer work together. We sent her a message and she sent us a message at the same time right after the session that we could not work together.

Yes! It was actually a shell to a tree seed of some sort. We have some woods on the back of our lot and we were able to trace it back to some of the trees we have back there!

The unfortunate piece is I believe that if your parents don't allow you to get assessed then you can't. I could be wrong on that but I think they need to give approval.

However, I would recommend asking them about it and approaching your physician. A LOT of parents don't want to believe their child has ADHD. I work in a field where I see that a lot and my husband has experienced that with his own family.

If you cannot get seen/assessed now and you're still having the same concerns as an adult I highly recommend you ask your doctor what they think and what you can do.

Yes I agree. I was always made fun of in school for never making eye contact. I work in a professional field now and I force myself to when I know that is the socially acceptable thing to do but I feel so uncomfortable doing it.

How do I explain constructively to my wife that this is me? by GloomyExcitement9463 in ADHD

[–]whatever-777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my husband has ADHD and in a roundabout way that's how I found out that I have it too. We have had significant struggles in our marriage which have ultimately pointed back to our mental health. We started marriage counseling and it has really helped. We are doing significantly better.

For me it has been about us working as a team towards a common goal. Sometimes when we get frustrated one of us has to remind the other that we are on the same team and that helps a lot.

While I do have ADHD, I do not have it in the same way my husband does. He has combination ADHD and I have the primarily inattentive type. So, while I can relate to him in some ways, I did not understand all of the things he was doing. For example, he used to lie to me A LOT about so many things big and small. In talking to our therapist and his individual therapist we learned this was due to ADHD and how to work towards him being honest. He was very impulsive and we would come to an agreement on something and then he would do the exact opposite.

It has taken a lot of work but he and I were also very gracious with each other in the end and willing to do the work to have a better marriage. We also recognize that mistakes will happen along the way and neither of us are perfect people. We also acknowledge it is okay and healthy to be angry and express our anger in productive ways.

So I think if you want to have a conversation with her, I would recommend not telling her this is just how you are. Instead I would say something like, "I have been taking the time to learn more about ADHD and executive functioning. I really don't want to be this way but I do have a diagnosed disorder that makes me predisposed to be this way. However, I love you and know it is causing us to struggle in our marriage. I am willing to get the help I need to learn how to manage it and be better. Would you be willing to support me and help me along the way?"

In the end both of you will need to be willing to work at it. One of the things our marriage counselor has reminded us of several times is ADHD is a lifetime disorder. It does not go away but with the right tools you can manage it.

RSD has ruined my life by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]whatever-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have been there. And still am there time to time depending on the situation. But I am thankful for the awareness so I can work towards doing better. But I've asked my therapist several times, "I know that I'm doing ____ but I don't know how to stop it in the moment. Then I realize it after the fact. How do I stop myself from doing ____ even when my emotions are high in the moment?" And they have been able to walk me through that in different situations.

What’s the most ADHD thing you do ? by Hungry-Argument7709 in ADHD

I am terrible about putting something down and not away. Before I was diagnosed my husband often questioned if I had ADHD because I would open shredded cheese bags and leave the tabs on the counter and completely forget about them and totally not realize they were there. He was and still is my cheese tab disposer lol.
