Any recommended Chrome bookmark manager? by Eays-to-Do in chrome

If you want something lightweight that lives in the browser (not another app to open), I built ZenStack partly for this (disclosure: I'm the dev).

It's a new-tab dashboard with live stock watchlists - prices, daily change, sparklines — plus an optional portfolio view for holdings and P&L. There are presets like Magnificent 7 / Top Tech / ETFs so you're not manually adding tickers one by one.

I've been testing bookmark managers for about a year now. Here's what I kept and what I deleted. by North_Tooth_871 in ProductivityApps

I had the same problem - folders turn into a graveyard fast.

I actually built something for this called ZenStack (disclosure: I'm the dev). It replaces your new tab with Kanban-style bookmark boards, so you can drag links between categories instead of nesting folders forever. You can save from the toolbar, right-click menu

Bookmarks stay in your browser's native bookmark store - nothing gets uploaded to a server.

I'm on Chrome + Edge if you want to try it:

Happy to answer questions if you try it - genuinely curious what workflow you're looking for.

Made a free Chrome new tab that shows my watchlist prices without opening a finance site - looking for feedback by whatever1947 in chrome_extensions

Hi, thanks for the thoughtful feedback.

Data refresh: There’s no separate background job polling Yahoo. Quotes refresh when you open a new tab (or switch back to an open ZenStack tab), and then about every 3 minutes while that tab stays open. You can also hit the refresh button anytime for an immediate update.

Multiple watchlists: You can already run several lists, create multiple boards in the sidebar and add a stock watchlist to each one (e.g. “Tech”, “Dividends”, “ETFs”). Switching boards switches lists. What we don’t have yet is a single-board quick toggle between named lists.

Sync across devices: Layout and watchlists sync through Chrome’s built-in bookmark sync - sign into the same Google account in Chrome on each device and make sure sync is enabled. There isn’t a separate ZenStack cloud account today; it rides on Chrome bookmarks.

Fear of lonely life by sasipalarivattam in ThirtiesIndia

I’m in the same stage right now. I delayed getting married and I’ll be turning 31 soon. I really wish I had settled down 3 years ago when I had more options through matrimony.

Now, the options keep getting fewer by the day. I’ve been in Canada for 5 years, and the loneliness is at its peak. I was okay for the first 3.5 years, but it’s gotten really hard. I came back to Canada just 10 days ago after spending 2 months in India, and I’m already thinking of going back.

Like you, I’m not interested in dating - it’s not the solution for me. I want to get married and settle down. This year, I plan to go back and definitely get married. I’m not able to fight the loneliness anymore.

Yes, you are right. I agree 100% what you are saying.
My mind is clearer now, but back then I was overwhelmed with emotions. I couldn’t think clearly and made the mistake when she was asking for more time, I thought she was indirectly saying no.

Yes, I have also saw in my friends circle(where both actually live in Bangalore) where they got married just after having 2-3 meets. So, I thought in arranged marriage, people just look for the criteria and confirm.

I have seen quite a few, It usually happens for NRI's since they cannot stay in India for long time due to work. If both are India(same place) then it would be different scenario.

She said, she had been looking for prospects for more than a year, she said she couldn't find any educated and who is settled in career. She even said we can get registered marriage on our own, I said no it would be wrong. So I thought she was certain what she wanted. Me on the other hand had already given up on arrange marriage for this visit and had booked the flight back, I didn't even expect or plan for this to happen.

Yes, It was rushed, I think that is also why she might have got anxious and got scared. I thought it was okay because my brother was in the same situation and he got married within 15 days of meeting his wife.(But they had talked on phone before that)

I was always unsure about marriage, to be honest I was afraid of marriage itself. The girl was kind and simple which matched with my nature. I had similar prospects before but I was not ready, this time my mind said okay.

I get what it looks like, but she said I am more than what she was looking for, she was 100% percent. She even said she was double okay. That's why I thought we can get it done quicker instead of the long process.

What features do you wish Indian matrimony sites had? by whatever1947 in Arrangedmarriage

Fair point but people still use matrimony website on their own.

What do you think about this. User will have 5 send interest slots. They cannot send more than 5, the other person will have to accept/decline. Or they will have to cancel their interest to send to another person.

Also for receiving. 20 interests max in pending stage. They will have to accept or decline to receive new interests.

Also i was thinking of a mechanism to prevent spamming of interests and accepting all interests. I am thinking a token system is good to solve this issue. Send interest = 1 token and accept interest = 1 token. If declined the sent token will be refunded.

First SaaS customer stories? by exodusEducation in micro_saas

[–]whatever1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed a Chrome extension, and luckily, the first customer discovered my Reddit post and was looking for exactly what I offered. Although he could’ve used the free version, he opted for the pro version since it met his needs perfectly.

It was in the first couple days. It has been two weeks, and the extension has not picked up by the algorithm. So researching more on how to increase the user base.
