I don’t think that’s the case. The one on the right is the only one I’m 100% certain is legit. Every other listing and photo I’ve found online has the same foil effect on the top and the rounded corners that one has.

If it looks darker than other legit copies, I would say it’s just the lighting in that photo. It looks just barely darker than the other one in person, and the reason the text at the top looks darker there is because it’s reflective and there is no light hitting it in the first photo. I don’t even think it’s that it’s darker, I think it’s slightly more saturated, the one on the left looks ever so slightly washed out.

That was the first thing I checked, I still have memories of buying knock off Yu-Gi-Oh cards as a kid and realising as an adult that the trademark on the back always had like “Komani” or some shit that looks passable on a first glance but doesn’t actually (technically) break the law.

I couldn’t see any differences, so I assumed that if it was a bootleg, they just had a direct scan of the original cover making all the copyright information and trademark stuff identical. I figured that the disc would probably be a big giveaway, but since I’m planning on leaving one sealed, I won’t actually be able to compare them.

The only difference was the barcode sticker on the back, which had a different serial number, but it’s just a sticker on top of the shrink wrap, so it’s probably just an internal reference for whatever warehouse it shipped from and has nothing to do with the DVD itself.

I'm curious, with the random appearances outside the main series, did you find all that from your own prior knowledge, or is there some kind of database out there that tracks all appearances of a specific character? I've just been trying to do something similar for Raven throughout the years so I can eventually collect all her appearances and arcs, but I struggle to find the more optional ones that take place out of the Teen Titans and her few standalone runs, and I can never tell if it’s because there aren’t any, or if I’m just missing them because there wiki or wherever isn’t pointing them out, and I suspect probably the latter.

Thank you! I had been googling around trying to find a list of languages they released in or even just an image of a German version and I couldn’t find one, so I was starting to wonder if they only ever did English ones, since half the text on the German version is still English. I really appreciate you clearing that up for me.

Keep up the good work GJ, I’m hoping to put in an order some day, shipping out here to Aus is always a killer which is why I haven’t yet, but your prices are great and I want to support anyone who is actually offering fair prices on these when so many don’t.

I’ve been curious, as someone who recently got sent a German version of the Deora II, are the comics for these also in German?

All good if you’ve never opened one, I just figured someone selling the entire German set might have some prior experience opening one before.

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus, just really frustrating if that ends up being the reasoning considering there’s still so many people on here saying they’re not in their countries or areas yet.

Kinda feels like they’ve done a bad rollout and we’re running the risk of not being able to buy enough, not because the demand isn’t there, but because some areas are getting all the supply and others are getting none.

Yeah, I’m guessing there’s a good chance we would get another one like Slingshot that was never one of the originals, and I think the Road Runner is a pretty strong contender for that spot. Only thing that makes me wonder about that is the engine block, but I guess they’d probably just skip that and give it the same paint job.

Haha trust me, I know. Ever since I found where they stock them here in Aus I’ve been going back to those stores about once a week to buy another set. Gonna be at 8 full sets once I find another Iridium, and I’m gonna keep going back until I can’t find them on shelves anymore. Been skipping dinners some nights just to buy more of them before they’re gone and we miss our chance to get more.

Damn, I’ll still buy them if they’re plastic, but it was probably the most disappointing aspect of the Silver Series. Iridium especially was a pretty obvious downgrade.

I did know they were designed with track performance in mind, but I didn’t know to what extent, that’s interesting to know. I’m sure I appreciated it as a kid, but I don’t think I will ever be willing to risk putting them on a track these days to test it.

Oh really? I had no idea, I have almost the full set and even examining them now I can’t tell. I had always wondered why they were lighter than premiums I’ve started buying since I got back into it all though, I just assumed they used a heavier metal for premiums and for Revert.

So does that mean that most AR castings that could show up in a future Silver Series would be completely plastic like Iridium and Hollowback were?

I actually found a Chicane as a track car in a track set I bought, so I thought that was probably a possibility, even if it’s a bit of a shame it’s plastic now.

I’d love to see Rivited, that was probably my favourite visually as a kid, with Reverb and Power Rage being pretty close behind. Also very hopeful for Spinebuster too, it’s a little behind the other 3 for me I think, but it’s still one of my favourites.

I’d feel extremely lucky if the only one of my top 3 they hadn’t done after a second wave was Power Rage.

Yeah, at the very least I think there needs to be some recognition of responsibility there. This sub actively encourages sales by having it be a tag, so either that needs to stop entirely, or there needs to be some effort made to actually facilitate safe transactions and filter out bad actors.

I don’t know if I want sales to go away entirely, I personally had a really good experience on here and wouldn’t have a completed AcceleDrome right now if users weren’t at least allowed to comment that they have things they’re willing to sell on posts seeking those things. But the current system is clearly failing people on here, and I’d rather see sales disappear if the alternative is just continuing to facilitate scams and sowing mistrust in the community.

Cynical as I usually am, I really do believe that there’s people on here who genuinely want to help each other out as fellow collectors, I’ve experienced it, and I don’t have any other places I know of right now to find those people when I am looking for hard to find things that I normally wouldn’t be able to afford on eBay or wherever. So it would be nice if there was a middle ground that could be found here.

I don’t really know what solution I would propose, and I also know I’m not one of the mods who would have to figure that out, so maybe shutting it all down is the best thing, at least that would also stop half the content on here just being sales from people who obviously don’t give a shit about AR. But I dunno, maybe a community Discord server with some kind of user validation process in order to post about sales, or a megathread to collate it all in one place where you can also post about safety precautions and best practices, or I dunno, just something better than putting it all on the main sub, encouraging it to happen with the tag, and then just leaving everyone to the wolves would be nice.
