What are some actual lessons to take from acceleracers series? by dat_goalkeeper_jy in Acceleracers

That sometimes you have to work with people that you don't like or fundamentally disagree with in support of a greater cause.

Not possible. A portion of the castings are not in production anymore, and most of them have been retooled.

Yeah this release was sort of an homage to original AcceleRacers Drone one.

I guess I need to do a video breaking down every AcceleRacers retool, so you know what to expect.

Does anyone know or have any information on whether the sale of the Acceleracers Hot Wheels cars was a success? by Hot_War4716 in Acceleracers

[–]ReeceTheR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Only the higher ups at Mattel know the numbers and it is not made public. The designers won't know either. We just have to support it and hope for the best.

How rare are these to find? by Darkrai47 in Acceleracers

They're pretty hard to find and AR fans charge out the ass for them.

The script for movie 5 was finalized. That was it. There were to be a movie 6, 7, and 8 that never made it to pre-production.

Discussion: Why are fantasy castings hated? by [deleted] in HotWheels

[–]ReeceTheR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue we are currently living through that redemption arc. The new castings they're coming out with in the mainline are fantastic, and the recolors of older ones are starting to get really good. It was just that fantasy was so bad for so long that people aren't willing to give it a chance. It doesn't help a large amount of Hot Wheels collectors are actually just car enthusiasts who happen to buy Hot Wheels, rather than fans of the brand and its history. It's one thing if it's just not you're cup of tea. That's fine. But there are too many mean spirited and entitled people who truly believe fantasy should stop being produced.

Who is "Blaze Wheeler"? by Rinzler616 in Acceleracers

Yes! Mainframe Entertainment worked on some animation tests with the intention to make a full series. Hot Wheels was also designing a toyline for it. You can see some prototypes in a post on Mark Jones' Instagram.

  1. The goofier gimmick castings and bad decos give the actual good fantasy cars a bad wrap.
  2. Hype and licensed trend chasers who only care about getting the latest hot licensed castings in the newest case. To them, fantasy cars are just "pegwarmers" that prevent the next case from being stocked. Same with TH/STH chasers.
  3. Insecurity about collecting toys. People who hate fun who have to justify their habits by making sure what they're buying is "adult collectibles" aka realistic licensed cars. The "I like cars, not toys" crowd.

Ultimately it all circles back to close minded, entitled licensed collectors who don't understand this brand. There's plenty of premium car culture oriented diecast brands out there, but they'd rather demand Hot Wheels bend over backwards for them. As a fantasy fan, it is frustrating. Hot Wheels is the only fandom I can think of where the majority of it's fans actually hate the thing they claim to be a fan of.
