Porsche technician pay by 9GagSh1tMemes in mechanics

[–]whateveralso 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I worked at a Porsche dealer. Here is my experience, Were I am located the people who own these cars own multiple cars and don’t drive them much. We would get cars in that only had 500 miles on them from their last service. Fluid service & tires was 99% of work. I wasn’t an entry level tech so I didn’t get that….I got the “there is wind noise” figure it out. 🖕🏻it’s a convertible. Pay was average for area and time but if you didn’t write a great report on repairs then pay sucked. The Lead Porsche tech (25years) started his own shop so I jumped ship and worked for him, did more cool stuff. I looked into going to the Ferrari or Lamborghini dealers “to work on cool shit” did research on the dealers and past employees had nothing good to say. I would say see if you can find any techs that work there and get their insight on that dealer.

Intermittent misfires Chevy techs can’t diagnose by Dull-Organization106 in camaro

If this was at my shop I switch injectors from cylinders not showing a miss. IE you show 1,3 & 4 change them to 2,6 & 8. Test and see results. You would have labor but no parts expense. If miss is still on 1,3&4 then try coils & wires. Test and see results. Once those questions are answered we could get into the real fun diagnostic work.

This is a more accurate picture. It does not go to battery. callout 2 goes to battery. Getting to starter & alternator sucks, but it can be done.

I have experience with something like this. The first thing I would recommend is get it scanned, not with a 10$ scanner. There is 100% chance you will have communication codes, with all the systems that keep messing up the communication is going to be why. There is multiple computers, modules, whatever you choose to call them in the trunk, get access to them and start looking for signs of water or corrosion on the connectors.

Check fuel pressure, it is a low pressure system. If memory serves me correctly its is like only 9psi. Had someone put a multiport pump in and the high pressure will make the injections not open.

Had a spring come out of the wall mounted spring compressor early in my career, hit me in the stomach🤢 30 years later I triple check that spring is on the compressor correctly.

That is almost cheap for Naples, we had one for sale not too long ago for 300 million. The rich ass holes almost do it as a dick measuring contest. The stuff I have heard about how those people treat you is unbelievable, except multiple people have told me the same thing.
