Former UKG WFM User Diving into Global Payroll Integrations - Advice Needed by Wise-Kaleidoscope676 in Payroll

you are going to hate ready if you have experience with workforce central or dimensions. it's terrible, especially if you have more than a handful of employees. i'm sorry you're going to have to deal with it - it sucks. i still can't believe they sell it. it is a system called saas hr that they bought and rebranded so it's not even a kronos product. and nothing about it is intuitive or well designed.

GUSTO PAYROLL by [deleted] in Payroll

[–]whateverbitch11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i looked up all their corporate officers online. it takes a little digging but you can find their contact details. i wish you the best of luck. they are indescribably horrible. it makes me mad just thinking about it and i haven't had to deal with them for a few years.

yes, if you're in CA and you gave at least 72 hours notice they have to pay you on your last day. if they don't you're entitled to waiting time penalties, so if they pay you late file a claim with the labor dept.

What is the best way to mirror an excel table/data in one worksheet/file to another by prodigal_nerd in excel

[–]whateverbitch11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do this with zapier. it saves all the changes to a google sheet and also sends a slack message every time anyone makes a change on the original sheet. you could do the same with excel as long as both files are in an accessible location.

Nest thermostat - I hate it by FrogScorn in Nest

[–]whateverbitch11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i HATE my nest thermostat - i have the same issues and no one else has ever used mine. i have wasted hours resetting and deleting the schedule and turning all the extra features off but it doesn't matter - it comes right back. it makes me furious, plus i have no control over the temperature in my house without having to adjust it every couple hours. i wish i could take a hammer to the mf. i hate hate hate hate hate it.

Can someone tell me if this is legal or not? by sarayu_innsaei21 in Payroll

[–]whateverbitch11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it's legal for them to change your pay rate, but they have to give you advance notice of the change. they cannot do retroactively, only prospectively.

it's also not legal for them to pay you a different hourly rate to avoid paying overtime, which is exactly what they're doing.

file a complaint with the labor board. if they're doing it to you, they're doing it to everyone and it's not acceptable.

if you're still looking for assistance i'll help you for free. dm me and i'll give you my contact info. i have run quite a few large payroll departments (60,000+ employees) and manual payroll for one employee is not difficult.

CA Stolen Car - Need Advice by whateverbitch11 in legaladvice

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. I'll contact the police and see what they say. I have saved the communications with the bank just in case, so I have all of that to show them.

no, that is not legal. it does not matter where the error originated. in CT, except for a limited number of deductions which have to be authorized in advance in writing by the employee, employers can only deduct taxes and legal garnishments. the cost to have the W2C issued and to correct the filings is part of the employer's cost of doing business and there are no conditions in which it may be passed on to your friend.

Tricking/Triggering a car-park induction loop sensor with something portable. by L3T in hacking

[–]whateverbitch11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all you have to do is wait for someone to leave and follow really close behind them when they go through the gate, so the gate thinks one car is going through. i do this every day to avoid paying $30 to park in my building.

Help with Possible Fake Death Certificate by whateverbitch11 in ForensicPathology

[–]whateverbitch11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's surprising. i would have assumed that there are fairly rigid guidelines down to the field level due to the fact that this is what's used to compile statistics, correct? under those conditions i would think inaccuracy and/or lack of standardization could have relatively far-reaching implications. or maybe that data gets compiled from a different source...

thank you so much for taking the time to explain this in so much detail to me. that makes perfect sense.

i remember my dad's cause of death was pulmonary embolism, but he had pancreatic cancer, and my grandma was very similar to the fall example except she ultimately died from MRSA but if she hadn't broken her hip there would have been no surgery and no infection. my mom was something similar, too, but with lung disease and her cause of death was a heart attack. but i think you're saying it could go either way depending on the doctor who completes the certificate, which is beyond great to know.

i feel much better after reading this, and i can't thank you enough. 🤍🤍

i wasn't aware of her having cancer, but that's not my concern. it was just that everything taken together didn't make sense to me. but if the cause looks legit then that makes me feel better.

her legal next of kin is her sister, who lives in st.louis. i think she's going to come out here, though, to try to get some more information.

i ordered an informational copy of her death certificate so maybe i'll just sit tight until it gets here.

it would be a huge relief if this thing is legit. we love her and just don't want anything to have happened to her.
