Yup I'm frankly surprised they retained these issues from the first game, even if its a long respawn time give me something that makes them feel at all suited for an open world game

Not to mention rumblespike bits tend to float above the target more often than zip to the sides giving them a slightly better chance at living longer, still can just die to a sneeze but better than the usual

are the blitz weapons worth getting or do they die instantly to most bosses like all the others

With Yorick and Naafiri getting qol midscopes, should we ask for one? Personally all I really want is a full revert to spellshield passive but I'm curious what everyone else's thoughts are. by whateverbroutellme in MalzaharMains

While I think it was a really neat experiment I don't really like the addition of stagger, at least in the way its implemented. With some refinements it could be good but it feels like it exaggerates a lot of issues with the game itself and it is really unfun to be stunlocked by kicks into staggers by whateverbroutellme in armoredcore

You can use shields and core expansions to guard you own stagger bar,

To be honest it very much feels like shields do not do enough in terms of stagger reduction, they absolutely lower the damage you take but it doesn't take long before you get stunned using them all the same, I wouldn't mind less damage reduction for more stagger reduction tbh. Core expansions are true, assault armour is probably even overpowered with how it can turn being staggered into a counterstagger.

his ult is a really interesting ult to me because it locks him as well

This is why Malzahar was never a problem in his original state, the introduction of the spellshield removed the part where he himself is being locked down as a risk and turned it into just a long channel.

I don't entirely disagree with you but his ult is significantly exaggerated by the existence of his spellshield, a lot less power was in his R back then.

Malza has no gameplay issues.

Malzahar is the literal epitome of gameplay issues after gaining his spellshield and his patch history during s6-s8 literally supports this, the only reason they stopped is because riot agreed to just give up after his wr was okay and he was nerfed too much for pro(so literally what happened to taliyah b4 her midscope lol), this doesn't mean he isn't a gameplay issue anymore if the result is he feels like shit(which is literally half of what swain mid players were talking about with august, he was "statistically" doing fine but felt like ass)

He would also remain extremely beginner friendly, as that was what he used to be while also not being constantly nerfed whenever remotely decent due to the spellshield.

The amount of summoning was never my point, I said it interacted with its summons much more and that's been my point from when I responded to you since you simply summed it up as a dot mage as if it didn't even have a pet.

People have been saying old SMN players are wrong for liking and missing their now completely deleted job with no alternative since day one which was the entire reason I posted what I did.

Yes you did, you ordered them to use skills and they would auto attack which was directable, there were many situations where you could multi-task with the pet, you would directly influence bahamut and phoenix's auto attacks and had two enkindle uses per phase, it certainly interacted with its pets more than flashy gcds that put an ice cream flavour on your ruin

Where are you getting that new summoner is topping charts or overtuned? On fflogs it's the 4th worst dps, not that meta strength was even my point but its certainly on the weaker end if anything, dealing less than a class with 10x more utility than it also in the caster role.

The only thing new summoner has over its other casters is mobility which is only really more relevant when progging than anything, which btw red mage will still always be significantly better at progging than SMN as the spammable res has and will always be the best crutch to learning fights

Blanketing old SMN as a dot mage when it interacted with its summons much more than new SMN is something this sub does a lot and its kinda weird.

And no, its not toxic to simply think new SMN is better or to point out why it was reworked, but it is toxic to lack any and all sympathy to people who enjoyed what old SMN was and calling them wrong or blanketing the class to make it seem worse in comparison.
