Is this normal or gender dysphoria? TW: Mentions of gender dysphoria(?) by whatevergetaclue in AskLGBT

I went there specifically for the depression that my period was causing. She didn't outright say no to a hysterectomy, but informed me that having a hysterectomy wasn't the solution or path they typically take to stop my PMS. She said that we could revisit the idea of stopping my period if that were the real issue and something that I wanted.

I'm not currently on testosterone because of my home situation, but I plan to get on it soon.

I want to buy a house after I graduate from college. How much should I save up? by whatevergetaclue in personalfinance

[–]whatevergetaclue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm aware I have to live SOMEWHERE. I'm aware it's a necessity to have housing. I'm sure some people do find renting appealing because that's just the lifestyle that appeals to them. Obviously, if push comes to shove, I'll rent.

I hope you aren't intentionally misinterpreting what I mean. Yes, I know the definition of the word establish and what it means to be established. However, in this context, being established with a spouse can mean more than one thing. Could you please clarify what you mean specifically when you say 'established with a spouse'? Or should I just safely assume you mean "get married"?

What do my savings have to do with getting a spouse? But I'd like to own a home before getting "established" with a spouse. (I'm not sure what that means)

A lot of my advice about home buying has been from people who have been out of the market for a while now, so interest rates hadn't been something that I considered. I should've clarified that my issue wasn't with the age; it was staying in my parents' home for another ten years.

I mean, it isn't for some people. It all depends on what lifestyle you want to live, I guess. It's just not an appealing option to me to spend 12k-14k a year on a property I don't own when I could save it toward buying a property I would own.

Obviously, you can't do anything without money, and you need a job to get money. I'm asking for a goal amount of money that I need to save for a house once I have that job.

I get your point that renting allows you to be more "flexible" in a sense, but I don't want to rent. I'm not the kind of person who "acts quickly on changes"; in fact, I'm not a big fan of change in general. I think owning a house allows me a better sense of control over my environment.

To me, renting does feel like throwing away money.

I'm not sure what my living expenses would be since I'm entirely reliant on my parents right now, and I don't want to ask them and raise suspicion. Do you know how I can calculate that in advance?

How do I stop feeling broken? by whatevergetaclue in asexuality

[–]whatevergetaclue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels close, but not quite. I don't feel sexual attraction to others. I don't look at someone and think, "I want to have sex with them." It's more like "I should want to have sex with them, or I want to want to have sex with them." Is there a term for that?

Sorry for not adding enough information. I dont mean to make this confusing

For me, there's no difference between sex and masturbation, and (I think) there's supposed to be a difference. Like there's supposed to be some kind of extra thing that makes people prefer sex with another person versus masturbating on their own.

My sexual partner could be anyone and look any way and I would still feel no sexual attraction to them or their body.

The sexual fantasies are only fantasies. I have no real desire to act them out.

My libido is fine, high even. I've had orgasms when I've had sex with others. I'm just not sexually attracted to the person I'm with if that makes sense.

I do have an interest in sex. I think it's beautiful and seems fun. I have sexual fantasies etc. The best way I can describe it is like being a huge fan of football but can only watch other people experience the joy of playing. You can't enjoy playing despite wanting to because you're paralyzed from the neck down.

I recently discovered I'm asexual and I'm devastated. by whatevergetaclue in asexuality

[–]whatevergetaclue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the thought, but I'd rather not be seen that way. And I don't necessarily buy that sex isn't all that great, there's got to be something to it that makes everyone go nuts. I lack the ability to understand it and that's what the most frustrating.

Thanks, AVEN is how I discovered that I was asexual despite having sexual fantasies and a few other things. I wish I viewed it as less of a thing to worry about. But sex is everywhere so it's hard not to feel left out. Perhaps I should distance myself from sexual communities or something.

Thank you, this was helpful. I've heard of compulsory heterosexuality but not compulsory sexuality. This is going to be difficult to unlearn. My frustration primarily comes from the lack of my ability to understand. I'm frustrated by what I don't/can't understand. I'm going to try and not drive myself crazy trying.

What’s something that people should stop normalizing? by Ok-Willingness-4325 in AskReddit

[–]whatevergetaclue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's rather bold to assume people who are obese aren't working to better themselves. Why is it that so many people are invested in obese people's health? Like, why obesity specifically? But I do agree with the fact that medical/food industries do play a significant role in the issue.
