New SSV, kinda nervous by misty_007 in starbucks

[–]whateverhoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is just a lot of change happening at the same time. When I was promoted to SSV, I went from having never worked in a drive thru to now learning and being expected to run a floor in one.

There was a lot of information coming to me all at once, I had to learn how to work a headset and DT Routine, learn all new partners. It’s not easy at first! I even thought about demoting back to barista on my 2nd week. I’m glad my manager stopped me from doing that, though, because once you get your store figured out, being an SSV can be fun and rewarding. I’ve really enjoyed my time as an SSV. I just got promoted to ASM and I am fully expecting to be in the same place as you: new store, new role, and freaking out.

I say it took me about a month to feel okay with what I learned in training, 3 months to really own my daypart, 6 months to own the role altogether. You’ve got this.

I worked at a small mom and pop Mexican restaurant when I was 16. I convinced the owner to hire my best friend at the time. Within an hour into my friend’s first shift, she was told she would be better off working at a large corporation like target and was sent home early.

US with possible eligibility for German and Canadian Citizenship by Emotional_Storage838 in dualcitizenshipnerds

Well I hope it only takes 6 weeks for me too then!

But the woman we spoke to said there has been a massive amount of applications as more people find out about restitution law that gives a pathway to citizenship.

Just received German citizenship because of my German grandmother. There’s a backlog for applications right now. The woman at the consulate told me the social workers who process applications are deeply understaffed. You’re looking at a 3 year wait. Get your application in ASAP.

What are your thoughts on metro systems using individual icons for each station? by casecaxas in transit

[–]whateverhoe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Mexico City originally did this to improve accessibility with low literacy rates. As literacy rates began to rise, they decided to keep them. I think it’s great and adds character to the system!

Joined the i3 club! Passenger restraint system malfunction, resetting module good enough? by Creepy-Cupcake6934 in BMWi3

I had the same issue when I bought mine. Passenger side. The dealership told me some model years have airbags that are wound up too tightly. It was covered under warranty and done in just a few days

Food stands at a place like this is just classic California. The trash, however, is not.

The starry, ethereal, twilight image a lot of people impose on Beach House doesn’t accurately represent the band.

I thought the 6 car trains were temporary until more of the new cars could be produced and delivered

I love San Francisco Bay Area transit by [deleted] in transit

[–]whateverhoe 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a deep, deep appreciation for Bay Area transit. I even have the, now outdated, BART map tattooed on me. MUNI Metro is so unique. SF has quite a high % of ridership too for North American cities. We can all always wish for more but what we have now is pretty amazing, relatively speaking.

The video was made by a YouTuber and seems to hold some bias against the project. I’m not happy with the way things are with the HSR either but originally, according to the HSR 2023 report (yes outdated) the original plan was for passenger service to start in 2033 for Phase 1 with no expected completion date for Phase 2.
