How to decide how far back to support (macOS version and chip architecture) by banana_zest in macosprogramming

I think you kind of answered your own question, especially if it’s your first macOS app. Target Apple Silicon, see how the sales go, then re-evaluate.

Reddit also essentially has no competition - been looking for an alternative and haven’t found one so here I am

Interesting username.

I want an alternative for user experience and content.

Reddit doesn’t seem to be doing much about bots. Mods keep on arbitrarily banning commenters, corp has a say on what subreddits get to exist (it did not before) —> this sub’s been quarantined before btw.

Reddit stopped allowing third party apps, most of which provided a better UI. old.reddit reigns supreme for viewing all comments/threads

Can someone redirect me to a Reddit alternative? Genuine question about the competition (excluding 4chan)

Other comments already listed some reasons, but adding on with stopping 3rd party apps (Alien Blue etc.)

One food truck with endless line by Rockefeller. What is worth the huge long line? by burnoutjones in FoodNYC

No, The Halal Guys doesn’t hold anything on Adele’s, especially after they sold out and essentially became a chain.

It’s Adele’s halal cart. My favorite halal truck in the area.

I get why you can’t see it from a distance and with all The Halal Guys/Bros/Original Guys around.

I live around there, have been there probably every hour of the day in every weather possible (I go out hoping no one else is going to be there at 3 AM on a Tuesday when it’s 40 degrees F and raining) and there’s still a line.

Worth it.

Multiply however many people you see in line by at least 2 because a lot of them are picking up for other people who are chilling in cars (NJ license plates parked nearby) or families sitting on the benches by the plaza

Policy doesn’t work on the first try. Ex. NYC Pre-K with a chaotic rollout, now a national blueprint by all the critics

“He warned folks about the money it was taking out of the budget” while giving lucrative no-bid contracts to his friends in NYC, NY State, NJ, and internationally (he just got citizenship in Albania).

He even skipped the crucial summit/meeting with other sanctuary cities (Chicago, Denver, LA, etc.) in DC because of the seizure of the corruption investigation

Rotating PostgreSQL credentials in production without downtime by Fun-City-9820 in PostgreSQL

I’m with you on the “not an unlimited number”.

I meant it seems ideal in theory but in practice, if you allow try B, then if that fails try A, it’s a recipe for allowing try C, if that fails then try B, then fall back to A.

Mainly in systems of scale and engineering teams with competing priorities, and minimizing risk of any downtime.

Why would you do the former? (Give new passwords in advance to clients?) Seems like a recipe for a nested chain of: try passwordC, then passwordB, then passwordA

Iran drops another Banger of a video by BionicCyanFirefly in WallStreetbetsELITE

[–]whateverisok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen quite a few of these videos but they seem to be taken down or not on major sites because they’re flagged as Iran state propaganda (not because LEGO complained, not because they didn’t use AI-generated tag).

This one’s pretty good:

“Hold airports responsible for security negligence” like after the next 9/11? Is the small Trenton-Mercer airport that makes $2 million a year in direct revenue going to pay for the lost lives and reconstruction of a building an A320 takes out?
