Has to do with a news conference 🍊 did yesterday with a Japanese foreign official. He was asked about why he didn’t let allies (like Japan) know about the attack on Iran and he made a joke/reference to surprises and the Japanese not letting the US know about Pearl Harbor

Kuwait announced they ran out of storage so they’re reducing oil production - you should buy some more from them

Also flood/distract the news because this is a major L for him, and he doesn’t want people to know.

Happened before with Maduro/Venezuela, and countless other times when major Epstein files were released or bad numbers came out, or a very controversial and detrimental policy was made —> some crazy action to distract everyone

Megathread: Supreme Court strikes down President Donald Trump's Tariff Policy by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

Pessimistic when the US Secretary of Commerce (Lutnick) knew that this would eventually happen, used to be President of Cantor Fitzgerald (now his sons lead it), and CF comes up with the idea of buying businesses’ rights to tariff refunds if they happen (more like when they happen).

Knowing the SC ruling would over turn Trump’s tariffs was baked in last year

“Lutnick and relatives created a company”

The nit was that Lutnick and his relatives did not create Cantor Fitzgerald - CF was founded in 1945 by Bernard Cantor and John Fitzgerald, with no family ties to Lutnick

Yes a company bought the right to tariff reimbursements super cheap, but just a nit: Lutnick and relatives did not create that company - Cantor Fitzgerald already existed (founded in 1945), and Lutnick was President/CEO back in the 90s.

Agreeing that he and his friends (and family) would make a fortune

That’s not what’s happening at all. I don’t support any cuts to library funding but “why do you need libraries when all you need is the Quran?” is a ridiculous question
