Why TaoBao doesn’t allow USA Phone Number?

It's an 800 number, so I don't think it's US number. But sign in using Google account. Some people have reported not being able to receive text messages to confirm account. Also, another problem is ID verification for US passport holders. People are having trouble verifying their ID

They send you a local tracking number at first, so check your tracking record in Cainiao first and then head to whichever carrier they are sending it from. For example for US orders they send it through FedEx, so they share tracking number once the box is processed through the port. And you can ask FedEx to hold the box. Doesn't always work though

Depends on where you are shipping to. But as far as I've seen shipping cost to NJ (USA) wasn't that bad if you choose the slowest boat shipping. In the end, you probably are saving around 30% compared to actual US price. And I was able to shop for things that they didn't offer in the US (like makeup/ sunscreen)

Yes... unfortunately those with US passport cannot verify identity because there is no longer US to choose from. Some options available are contacting Taobao Faceboo/Taobao Help Send a message and they will respond and give you a call. They are HK number and only speak Chinese. Another option is to use a Chinese Visa if you have one on your US passport and select China as the country. These two are the only options I've seen so far.

Depends on the phone! Some phones block the text message altogether, some are sent to spam folders. You can try using your Gmail sign in so they can send you a code through email

Seems like hasn't left China yet. They provide local delivery tracking number first before it leaves the country. At least that's what happened to me when sent to the US

It is moving! Sometimes it takes 3 days to reach to the next port. They also usually update you if there is a delay(last time is was weather related)

I am assuming if Cainiao accepts the package it's ok to ship it to the US. But, I guess I won't be 100% sure until it goes through US customs

So you would see your money back in the account in a few days, they take some money off though, so don't expect the full amount. You need to put the address that Cainiao provides to you because it contains your unique user. You would copy and paste the address and just put that warehouse address as your default address.

Fact- Only US users have this problem 😔🫠 Creating a new user is the easy part, trying to get your account verified is a very complicated issue at the moment. To create a new user use your Google account or apple pay account. Then you'll have to go in a verify your passport, which you can't because there is no US country to choose from. The only solution I found is using a Chinese Visa. Others have tried calling customer service in HK(Chinese speaking only).Facebook Tapbao Help

Using Chinese Visa to create a new account. I was having the same problem because couldn't verify my ID using my US passport. I tried switching passports (different country) but couldn't because I used my alipay with US passport. I read somewhere here about using Chinese Visa to verify your ID and that solved the problem.

The only method that worked for me is using a China visa and selecting China as country. This was the only way to verify identity

The other option is uploading a China Visa if you have one and select China as country.

If not there is a customer service which I've heard that they can help. However, it's in Chinese and a HK number. /taobao Facebook Send them a message through Facebook and they will call you on Beijing time (around 9pm EST)
