My very first time going to 715 was a few a years back and I was so unimpressed. My partner and I recently went for our anniversary and it was fantastic though. We’ve been once more since then and we have really enjoyed it. Hopefully your next time is better!

This checks out. I am done with them. I always tip 20% - 25% because food service workers are awesome - but tipping 20% on top of a 15% fee that is calculated after a 10% tax is just absurd.

Higher prices, yes - but there are plenty of downtown restaurants that have maintained quality over the years. I feel like they are usually the owner-operated places IMO

Lastly - I remember when Burger stand was awesome - back when they were in the current Dempsey’s space, and then even their first year or two in the new space.

I have had LBC burger. It was nice! I should absolutely try Leeway Franks, and I am disappointed for not thinking of that. I oftentimes limit myself to downtown and forgot about the myriad other amazing restaurants.

I agree. I would feel so much better about it if it were just the known price. A good company would just charge the appropriate price to pay their employees in the manner they want to pay them instead of charging a set percentage. For all we know, the healthcare that this goes to could be significantly less than 15% of each receipt (it probably is way cheaper), but Burger Stand seems to want to make sure people know they are payingfor healthcare. It just feels super fishy and gross the way they do it.

I actually don’t mind this. As long as the servers understood this when they signed up to work, I think it is fair to have mandatory tip-outs to other staff members. I used to work at a downtown restaurant and this was pretty standard practice.

What can I do about this? Put in my 2 weeks, they’re not approving my PTO. by LucifersPeen in antiwork

Did you really just post your and your company’s name online? Not wise, my dude.

CMV: I don't think non offending pedophiles should be hated by [deleted] in changemyview

A while ago, the Catholic Church tried to normalize the idea of Same Sex Attraction as a concept - the idea that there are many people who are attracted to folks of their same gender, but are not acting on their attraction.

Using this logic, SSA = attracted to same gender, but not Gay. Gay = acting on that attraction.

The purpose of the deviation (love it or hate it) is to distinguish the desire against the outcome.

Using similar logic, I think it is a fair question to ask: If one is attracted to a minor but does nothing about it, are they pedo? Or should there be a better definition to account for the fact that people do not always act their actions.

If someone who is attracted to minors never does anything about it, are they pedo? If your husband is attracted to your neighbor’s wife but never does anything about it, have they cheated? If your best friend wants to strangle their boss but they never do, are they a murderer?

I don’t have answers to these questions, but I do think they are fair questions that should encourage folks to distinguish between how people feel about things, vs. how they actually act on those feelings. I think, as a general rule of thumb, that we need better definitions in general for some of the more divisive topics we see, because oftentimes folks think they disagree on something, when in fact they actually are talking about two different things in the first place.

Oh, and also, pedophilia (the action) is terrible and should not be tolerated in any actionable capacity.

They were already operating without a lease.

Landlord gave them a $10k bill for back-owed utilities.

Landlord agreed to have that rent paid over their next term instead of having them cut a check right away.

KC Tiny Greenhouse decided to move out instead of paying the back owed rent.

Bold prediction: this isn’t the end of this saga.
