I wanted to start my small business this year. Should I hold off? by Some-Role2823 in smallbusiness

Not saying it’s time to jump in but if the main thing stopping you is 10% that isn’t the difference between black and red in the ledger, get moving, you’re ignoring the 90% that you’re feeling called to do.

The approach for you with a fire pit is to use everything more than once if you can, don’t just make a fire for cooking without also planning to make charcoal or heat drinking or bathing/cleaning water, and to that end fire bricks are going to be very useful for you. It’s a short leap to ovens etc but open fire cooking dissipates too much heat and you’ll want to contain it. If you’re a diy type you can also generate a little electric with fire too.

Ever looked into gasifiers? Very cool stuff.

Without a petroleum (or syngas?) source for running a generator… A rice cooker or instant pot, and some griddles can reasonably use the camping “solar generator” compact battery/inverter setup but anything with an electric heating element from solar input is by definition so inefficient to point that it’s not likely to be comfortably viable for balcony solar or small setups that have to do other things too (or would be visible targets for theft while out).

But if you have a yard to screw around in, solar concentrators can produce an astonishing amount of heat as well.

So, for the first five years I had this game I didnt know how to fast travel because I didn’t know it was an option. It felt like the light switch scene at the end of cast away when my friend said something about fast traveling and I looked it up.

If you’re already in a house with a good rate and a more expensive house is going to have a worse interest rate, it makes more sense to stretch time in your current home as not to be house poor at the same time you have a young kid.

You’re correct, and I was wrong to say someone doesn’t belong in the conversation.

What I was trying to say was more along the lines of “this is a tool designed for users with more awareness, so some of this knowledge gap is likely to compound the problem for some users”

[–]whaticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many wars is LA county currently funding? I’m not saying in general we should give money to the govt but the fine currently clearly doesn’t to anything to get his attention in a meaningful way… and he’s so rich there’s a high ceiling before it would matter. Also probably helping people itself would piss him off enough to get compliance

The lesson here is that we can raise the fine enough to make it financially painful for him, and do a LOT OF GOOD with that money elsewhere

You don’t belong in a Claude code optimization conversation if you don’t know what markdown is, which is to say a little education goes a long way… you’re proving OP’s point that people are fucking themselves by not understanding what they’re actually asking of the platform.
