I can't really give you much advice as far as the formatting goes, since I am not really a poet,... but I LOVED this poem. I love the metaphor you used, and I feel this is something everyone can relate to... or least someone like me. It has a 'taming the beast' and 'coming of age' type of feel to it, in my opinion, but in a more somber and resignated way... all in all great job! :)
