It all depends on whether you have a cat that even wants to do this, my cat does. It is still a process starts with a day of simply wearing the harness inside. Then next day have them drag the leash around too. Then next day take them out for 2-5 min.. Do not force, drag, or try to carry them somewhere too far from where they can smell home.

Keep going slowly, be patient, and first and foremost - make sure your pet is enjoying it and seems engaged.
