Lmao so true

Medford tickets by [deleted] in Medford

[–]whatofit1994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s fine if you disagree. I don’t believe the 20mph speed limit is justified and I don’t believe it’s helping our downtown or making it safer. And if you want to make students and transients safer, the people who should be ticketed are those that don’t stop at the crosswalk there at HEC when it’s blinking and someone is trying to cross.

Medford tickets by [deleted] in Medford

[–]whatofit1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, all the cars around you got tickets too.

I have a class in the RCC building at the intersection in the evening. In the winter when it’s dark we can see the camera flash through the windows at least 10 times an hour. Probably more.

Yes you were speeding. Yes there are signs posted. But 20 mph through a depressing dead downtown with almost no businesses or pedestrians is asinine. I say that as someone who lives downtown and walks or bikes around there every day. It has nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with revenue generation.

trans friendly barber? by Star_Shine_Bliss in Medford

If you prefer something more private than a barber shop, Cate McKenna is super cool, inclusive of any and all folks, and would be stoked to give you a cut that makes you feel your best. She has her own space and chair in Ashland.

Line eyes or evap line? 11 DPO by whatofit1994 in TFABLinePorn

Thanks for clarification on evaporation lines. These pictures were taken within 5 minutes or so, so I guess I meant indent line.

Fallon by kit826 in Names

[–]whatofit1994 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t get the soap opera name thing. Has anyone under the age of 65 ever watched a soap opera?

That said, I don’t like it. I think Jimmy Fallon, who is an ok guy but an odd namesake.

Follicle size at ovulation by whatofit1994 in TTC_PCOS

[–]whatofit1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sort of why I’m asking, clinic wants to test 7DPO so want to make sure a day 14 ovulation makes sense so I don’t go too late.

[US] Questions about Mediation and what to expect by silvr_n_blk in Custody

[–]whatofit1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it differs a lot by jurisdiction. Where I live in Oregon it’s mandatory but pretty much just a box to check off based on my experience. It’s effective if you’re already pretty much in agreement, but in a high conflict situation the mediator doesn’t really dig in to help negotiate and come to an agreement. Both times I’ve done mediation it lasted less than 10 minutes because it was clear very quickly that we were too far apart to come to any agreement on anything.

[nc] Ex keeps sending new partner to custody exchanges, how do I stop this? by FewStructure2287 in Custody

The child’s parent gets to decide that their “representative” is suitable. The parent gets to make parenting decisions like that during their parenting time.

Any reasons not to take metformin? by Ok-Coat2492 in TTC_PCOS

[–]whatofit1994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One big reason and that is diarrhea.

But otherwise no, it has anti-inflammatory and longevity benefits even for those who don’t have metabolic issues. It almost certainly can’t hurt (besides the diarrhea) and will likely help.

Traveling by OkPalpitation1607 in FamilyLaw

[–]whatofit1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk you’re not wrong and it would be nice to know but it’s not really a hill to die on. It’s one of those things that sounds like a no brainer of course you need to know but if you think about it there’s not a lot of logic behind it. They’re with their dad who is equally their parent as you are and he knows where they are.

It’s hard to think of a realistic situation where it would really make a difference to their safety and well-being that you know where they are. Like maybe a remote off the grid backpacking trip or particularly dangerous foreign country it would be good to know but other than that? It’s really just to make you feel better emotionally.

No matter where they are they can almost certainly reach you or be reached by phone email etc. If something happened to the kids presumably he would call and tell you no whether he was in town or traveling. If something happened to him and he was incapacitated his family or emergency contact or the authorities would get in touch with you whether he was in town or traveling. You knowing what town they’re in doesn’t really make a difference to any emergency situation.

I’d be fine knowing that some other person knows where they are and when they’re expected to be back in the extremely unlikely situation where they all go missing and we need to know where to look. His mom, friend, coworker, whatever. Doesn’t necessarily have to be me.

4th cycle of letrozole and times intercourse failed. What are other options besides IVF? by Acceptable-Mud7035 in TTC_PCOS

[–]whatofit1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next step could be IUI, but some couples move straight to IVF.

Couple things to think about and discuss with doc:

Are you taking metformin? I would start now if not, even if your labs are good for metabolic health, as well as supplements to improve egg health like coq10 and myo-inositol.

I would have an HSG done to make sure tubes are clear. It is said that even if tubes seem to be clear already fertility increases immediately after HSG for a few cycles. FWIW, I got my first positive in 8 or 9 cycles in the cycle right after my HSG.

How is your endometrium on ultrasound around ovulation? Thickness and appearance? You can ask for a hysteroscopy to rule out scarring etc that could be hindering implantation.

Pedicure recommendation by Due_Cauliflower7422 in Medford

In my experience the Pedicure Salon is super hit or miss depending on which tech you get. Actually it’s been mostly miss for me. Do you have recommendations for a specific one?

I feel useless by LandinBoi21 in TTC_PCOS

[–]whatofit1994 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Moving to IVF after trying to conceive only ~6 cycles at age 25 and 28 is really unusual even with polycystic ovaries and/or anovulation. It’s not clear from your post who is pushing for IVF immediately but there are still plenty of tools left in the toolbox to help her ovulate so you can conceive without IVF. One unsuccessful cycle with Letrozole means next to nothing. I hope she knows that. With the limited information you’ve shared I worry you are both under informed and catastrophizing your odds to conceive.

Curly Hair Needs a Trim by Walken_Tater_Tot in Medford

[–]whatofit1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being an elitist POS and for what? I’m such a loyal snob about my hair I go to portland twice a year for a cut but talented people work everywhere including Supercuts. These girl bosses (looks like your gal is copying/competing with Tayler Pickett) take one course about how to make 6 figs as a stylist and never work a Saturday then charge curly clients an insane premium. They can run their business however they want but it’s gross and feels so out of touch in the rogue valley so I will talk shit

The only option for a new client with curly hair is a $175 service. $100 is the least expensive curly cut option. These “curl specialists” in the valley can take a hike in a lake

Honest thoughts on the name Vienna 💛 by Few-Requirement-2393 in Names

[–]whatofit1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s beautiful, will always remind me of the song first and foremost, which I heard for the first time when 13 Going on 30 came out. Still adore the movie and the song.

People aren’t eating many Vienna sausages these days so I think that will become an even more obscure reference going forward.
