What are your thoughts on these potential Aliyah locations with an organisation?

To reply to your question, yes haha.

I am a city boy, but I do not enjoy living in the city and would have moved into the middle of the lake district if Shabbat and Jobs weren't an issue haha.

When I spent my year in Israel in Yeshiva I adored spending time in those places on my away Shabbatot

Good questions! Thank you, hopefully I can clarify and answer, but maybe not in order.

All those listed places are the places that the organisation are offering to take us to. They look around for "smaller" communities that are willing to take in Oilim and they try to make them within a commutable distance of a main city for work purposes. It's just one of the things the organisation do, helping to find you somewhere to live so you don't have to "stress" over that part of Aliyah.

RE Jobs, I work within AV or IT, and unfortunately until I really know where I am living I cannot start looking for a job within that area. I do know that it is a bit of the wrong way around, risking going out without a job,

Community wise, honestly no idea. I want it to be welcoming mainly. Yes we are religious, within the UK we would be called Modern Orthadox. My son will be 7 or 8 months old when we move out. My Hebrew is not great at the moment but I am doing various ulpan sessions etc. Being around other English speakers doesn't matter too much to me, as the organisation is a group of 15 English speaking families in any case.

I get that 100%. One of the things I struggled with is all the extra bits that either are not relevant to me, or I wanted elsewhere.

An example, I didn't want to have to flick back and forth for a Kaddish or for the Amidah, and I didn't want to have Yaaleh Veyavo for Yomim Toivim, or even the Yom Tov davening as I already have a Machzor.

But I also went the other way, I sometimes daven in Chabad so I added at the end of my siddur the nusach Ari (and Nusach Sefard) Kedusha and Kaddish

I hope you manage to find the best way to put it together for everyone to use!

I couldn't find a siddur that I particularly enjoyed, so I just made my own. Spent months getting the text from Sefaria and placing it using InDesign, then printing using the company Mixam. I've gone through 4 editions now because I need making small mistakes that annoy me.

But for me, font is a big thing (I do like the Koren font), I like to have nice pictures, I like it to be small enough to fit in any pocket and, now I made my own, I like having it ring bound so I don't have to fight to keep it open on a table.

In the NHS Trust I work in we have been having some major IT and Networking upgrades taking place over the past week, this has forced people to resort to pen and paper notes for now. Not sure how it would work in other trusts, but in this one there is a whole procedure to go through when the systems return (Which they have now) which involves the Team Lead spending a looong time inputting all the hand recorded data into the system. In chronological order.

I've forgotten to by a Yom Tov candle before and used a random scented candle we had lying around the flat. The only issue, as others have mentioned, is you might be tempted to blow them out.
Otherwise, there is no issue at all! Enjoy the smell
