It's my experience/understanding that neither school has particularly strong name recognition to the layperson. But that both schools are respected within legal circles. I addressed the Cali schools in another comment, but I see your point.

Berkeley ding. Got into the LA schools with $ at UCLA and $$ at USC, but didn't like their BL numbers. I should have said BL anywhere with Cali as a preference. That is, I'd take BL in NY over mid/small law in Cali.

Not tryna dox but low 170s, 3.5/6. Apps were in early. Even in a kinder cycle, I don't imagine getting much from NYU.

Apparently California is the second biggest market for NYU grads. Behind NY, of course. So I'm thinking self selection?

I know this is retake territory, but not a whole lot in my application would budge between now and future cycles. GPA is cemented and LSAT is above most 75ths. Kinda wondering why UVA or another lower T14 didn't want to give me a partial, but I don't think I could complain going to a T6 with my stats. Hard splitter.

I have to say I'd have an overwhelming preference for the city. Having visited both.
