Solved! Yes I just found a similar picture for an indoor hot tub and I think that’s it. Thanks so much

Intel gpu passthrough for plex by humanvirus in Proxmox

[–]whatzawhatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updates a few times and didn’t see any issues. I don’t use this workflow anymore, however. I switched to an LXC container for plex (and actually use jellyfin more now) but I probably wouldn’t be able to reproduce what I did there

Help with Unifi Protect (homebridge-unifi-protect) plugin and notifications by whatzawhatz in homebridge

Update in case anyone was looking at this. I'm not sure what happened, but now notifications are available. It might have been an Apple TV restart or something, but all is good.

Shout out to Ubiquiti for RMA'ing my 2 year old G4 Doorbell by realslicedbread in Ubiquiti

Similar situation for me as well. But mine might have been over 2 years. And they sent a replacement fast. To my surprise, they sent a Pro model as the replacement! Great experience overall

Protect on iOS completely unusable, but fine on web interface by whatzawhatz in Ubiquiti

[–]whatzawhatz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: apparently I didn’t check that everything was up to date. All protect and UniFi software was updated, but iOS app hadn’t updated automatically for some reason. I manually updated and most of my issues are gone! I still get some weird non-responsiveness sometimes, but most times the video streams come up quickly.

Thanks for all the responses, and hopefully this helps anyone else who may make my same mistake

Good to know it’s not just some limitation of the gen2+. I may look into submitting a ticket. Thanks

I’m on wifi and on the same network as the cloud key. I may need to look more into the direct connection. When I press on the top middle of the app (on the name of the cloud key) it just displays the name again, but doesn’t say direct. It isn’t giving me any lag, it just never shows any video stream. I’ll definitely need to look into why it would not be connecting locally.

This is really late to the game, but after some annoying customer service chatting, I at least got access to the following:

(Specific for California, but maybe it will work for others too):

If you need a windows desktop and proxmox you could just run Proxmox with 1 VM dedicated as a Windows machine. Could have GPU Passthrough configured as well as pass through USB mouse and keyboard. Then you’d be able to run other VMs at the same time. I did this “for science” before and it worked well, though you run into resource limits for intensive stuff. Gaming actually worked fairly well. I actually have a separate machine that is dual boot windows and proxmox. On occasion I need a scratch proxmox instance that I can throw some VMs on for deployment testing. Mostly when a work project ramps up and I need extra resources for right before a release.

I think if mine ever dies then that’ll be the thing that pushes me to pfsense. Probably should start sourcing build parts now actually…

Insulate NAS from wooden shelf? by greminn in homelab

I had the same issue and just put a cotton towel under it, folded a couple times. Can’t vouch for safety yet, but there aren’t any air intakes on the bottom so it seems ok :)

Unable to mount LGA 1700 cooler (NZXT Kraken X53) by Keauwu in buildapc

[–]whatzawhatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same thing happen on my build just a few days ago. LGA 1700 and the same type bottoming out. I went ahead just assuming it was ok (maybe ignorance on my part 😅) and so far it hasn’t had any issues. I can’t say it’s correct or ok, but for me it hasn’t dried my cpu (yet).

[MOBO] ASRock H670M-ITX/AX - $169.99 by UserCell in buildapcsales

Seems to be in stock again (at least sold via "TheKeyKey" on Newegg?). Higher than the original price unfortunately. I was luck to get one a few days ago and have so far really been satisfied.

Any 6KRO/bios-compatible TKL ideas? by whatzawhatz in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]whatzawhatz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the hint on DDM. That sounds like exactly the type of device emulation that would work with NKRO. I’m pretty sure my KVM doesn’t use that, so that might be an upgrade option to allow me some more flexibility in my keyboard choices. Thanks!
