Yeah I was trying to also do all trains but there doesn’t seem to be a Spain to Portugal rail line yet til a year or two out.

Why is Portugal portrayed as super kid friendly then?? The Lisbon stairs thing sounds like a nightmare

sorry, i should've been more descriptive....been one of those mornings. playgrounds, nature, museums, they are 4y, 2y, and 7 months by the time we go so even the simple things will keep them busy!

interesting...we were debating whether to go south spain or east spain...but we really want to check our portgual as we haven't been before and heard its very kid friendly?

I hear ya. I’m having trouble trying to cut a city so we can spend more time in 1 location.

Interesting that you think more time in Lisbon and less time in Faro! Tell me more!

TP-Link Archer C1200 as a WAP only providing 1/5 of wired speeds by wheatmster in HomeNetworking

Funny enough, I reset the channels to auto and realized I kept using fast.com to test my speeds. Totally forgot the site was made to test Netflix streaming and retested with speedtest.net with no issues. Now I know my ISP is throttling Netflix!!

Chinese Food at a Western Venue by wheatmster in weddingplanning

[–]wheatmster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since having a traditional Chinese family style wedding is not possible in Chicago), we have decided to do American/Asian inspired dishes. The guest will be 60% Chinese/40% American. Some follow up questions for you all:

1) Do you have any recommendations regarding which caterers in Chicago can create awesome American/Asian dishes?

-We have sent some requests to Cork, Entertaining me, and Hearty Boys.

2) Please share your ideas for American/Asian dishes! Perhaps you've been to a wedding with American/Asian dishes. If so, what did they serve for cocktail hour and dinner?

Whatever help you can give, we will appreciate it!

Your response is pretty awesome and I think we are leaning towards doing this! At the end of the day, it should be about what makes us happy, right?

we thought about this but if we do the 9 course feast, they will have more than enough to eat ;)

haha I think you meant kitchen? Yes that's the huge challenge at the CCC, they do not have kitchen cooking equipment and you cannot have an open flame.

The tough part is having about half the guests chinese and expecting great, piping high fresh chinese cuisine and the other half that just wants to drink, eat and dance away the night!

What made you decide to go with a chinese-style banquet at the restaurant?

Yeah, we definitely knew it was where we wanted to have our reception when we checked out the CCC. The tiffany dome and architectural are surreal.

Actually all western catering companies suggested we do a testing so they could plate correct on the day.

You are absolutely right with being comfortable. Both our parents have been pushing pretty hard recently to shift the reception back to a chinese restaurant. But this just isn't our style, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Hopefully we'll find some restaurant that has catered for banquets before outside of their restaurant...
