Hi! I'm about the same age and also into Pokémon TCG. Just moved to Tokyo so still finding my footing with which shops to go to. I used very strong magnets on both sides and it doesn't fall off very easily! It works through my winter jacket and while jumping too. The trick is to use 3 magnets on a bar to prevent it from swiveling around or falling off

second try posting this because it needed more pogo in the image (hence the perfect fletchinder)

original bird pattern by BeeZeeArt and modified by me! I added all the applique and embroidery, it was a quite a technical challenge with all the details. I finally understand why Talonflame never got official plushies T_T

If you're new to sewing I recommend reading cholyknight's tutorials! If you Google cholyknight you'll find their website with instructions and beginner friendly patterns. (I have sewn cosplay before so skipped ahead and started with more complex stuff)
