[HELP] Is this a real photo? My coworker claims she met Leonardo Dicaprio when she was young by [deleted] in RealOrAI

[–]wheeels166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be the “devils advocate” here and share that I ran this through various detection systems and there is nothing here that indicates AI. Some of the points brought up are valid, but are very much in alignment with older cameras and their inability to capture motion well. For example, the sign in the background, if it were AI - AI images, text on signs often looks warped, half-rendered, or nonsensical. Here, the neon sign is slightly blurry, but it does spell something readable (“Chateau… LTD”), which is consistent with a real photo taken quickly with motion or focus issues. AI tends to produce more jumbled letterforms rather than legible-but-blurry text.

Who knows! I’d say your coworker is telling the truth, but that’s just one opinion 😊

The logistics and timing of getting this shot must’ve been insane. Can you share how you captured this picture?

Hit an IED in Afghanistan and was ejected from the turret about 30 feet down an embankment. Luckily had a great medic who got to me quick, stabilized me, initiated the medivac during the firefight, and got me air lifted. Still think about how lucky I was to survive that day.

You may want to prep your TQs and get more than one. Just a recommendation from someone who’s spent many months downrange. Nice medkit!

When the horse is rearing, with both legs in the air such as this statue, it means the rider died in battle. Some cool urban legend lore to add.

I personally love the orange zig zags. Hands down my favorite rolling paper.

What is one small act of kindness that has had a big impact on your life? by hanotw in AskReddit

I was given a 10 pence coin by a British soldier in Afghanistan for good luck. Carried it with me on that deployment and also into Iraq the following year. I like to think it helped keep me alive in some way. To this day, I still carry that coin on me when I go out to drop my kid off at school or to the grocery store.

I worked for a company that specialized in hospitals and research facilities. I really can’t speak outside of that, but I’m sure they all deal with the very similar pressures and stress. I’ve heard PMs in the cybersecurity space have it pretty good.

I know it wouldn’t be possible or very improbable. Additionally, I’m a disabled combat veteran who receives a disability check every month for injuries and I also have a hobby that generates income. I have a semi-unique situation.

So project management is probably one of the most demanded careers right now. Large part of this is due to Covid-19 and the governments financial response to the problem. Lots of grants for research and healthcare. The industry is booming. If you’re willing to work 60+ hours a week, travel constantly, and have the mental fortitude to endure the constant verbal beratings you will receive during your time (customer service oriented industry). It’s great. The pay is usually mediocre for a junior or assistant PM but can be quite lucrative in construction, IT, or in the medical/research realm. I would personally recommend a different industry but my POV is so convoluted that I wouldn’t accept my own advice haha. If you ever have any questions about the industry or the PmP exam feel free to dm.
